Item Information

Add 10 spring gentle bees to your yard for awesome pollination of flowers, fruit trees, and gardens. Mason bees make wonderful garden companions that won't travel far from their home. The bees nest in provided holes where they deposit pollen, lay eggs, and continue pollinating your yard for many weeks! Eggs laid this year will provide next year's generation of pollinators. And so the cycle continues.
Each female is a queen and performs all her own tasks. There is no honey-making - just plenty of pollinating. Because these bees must choose between defending a hole or gathering pollen, they are very "easy going", flying around you rather than protecting their nest, making them family- and pet-friendly. These bees live approximately six weeks.

  • Spring mason bees ship February 1 through April 15
  • Each certificate is redeemed online and has no expiration
Note: Spring mason bees are not recommended for Alaska or gulf regions of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Current agricultural restrictions prohibit the shipment of mason bees to the state of Hawaii, Canada or other countries outside of the continental United States."

Note: This product may require up to 2 additional days for order processing prior to shipping

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Certificate. ?????? Not bees. I had expected I had bought bees. Shipped to the store over days. Only to have a box with a certificate inside. The certificate would then be used to go “on line “ to order. Thought with the advertising, that’s what I was doing in the first place.. Who would do an order on the internet just to get a coupon to order on the internet.??... The clerk kindly returned my cost. Wanted you to know.

It has been cool on Long island. I have a mason bee house and want to order bees. Is it too late?

Asked by: Abigail 414
The mason bees are available February through April. We would suggest to wait for leafcutter bee season which is now through August. Temps should be in the high 70’s plus. The company can send the bees next year if preferred. This listing is for a certificate to redeem the bees from Each certificate is redeemed online and has no expiration

It's April 18th. Is it too late to still get some bees for this season? The description says the 15th. Does 3 days over kill my chances?

Asked by: sdalady
We have confirmed that the bees are still available until the end of April.

It says these Mason bee live six weeks. Will they breed and have more bees? How do I have these mason bees last the entire flowering season?

Asked by: james00
All bees live 6 weeks, and honey bees have a 1000 eggs laid a day and a 1000 bees die a day. With the solitary bees, the eggs they laid this year are next year’s bees. You can, if you have a lot of bees, place mason bees out early in April, then place others out latter April. Yes, if all goes well, they breed, lay eggs, and next year’s bees are there for you.

Is Flagstaff Arizona a good environment for these bees, I already have a gift bee house, but where do you put the cocoons?

Asked by: DANO52
For Flagstaff, I believe the heat at this time of year should lean more towards the leafcutter bee which works well in temps from 75+. The mason bee, while a viable bee and found in AZ, is more of an earlier cooler temperature bee.
