Rated 1 out of 5 by from Best coon catcher for the money! Good trap, you can set and adjust the trip mechanism lightly. I caught a few coons but the flap on the trigger got destroyed by a big coon that wanted out. I need the flap mechanism please! I did go back and bought two more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very good I bought this awhile ago and tried to get it to work but it is very hard to push on the plate and still doesn't release. I have tried removing parts and got it to work once but now its garbge can't get the door to release when push on the plate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Release WAY TOO STIFF! Caught a large raccoon followed by a large skunk. No problem; they were heavy animals. Gave up trying to catch lighter skunks. The spring loaded mechinism is too stiff for them to trip the plate. Now I have a couple of stray cats I want to TNR. Last night I watched one of them stand on the trip plate and eat all the bait. Now I've cut the coil spring around the trap plunger so it no longer loads the latch. It will trip now with almost no pressure like it should out of the box. It's a few days until the next neuter day at the clinic. I'll see if it works or goes in the trash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trigger Failure I bought the trap to capture a family of raccoons in my barn.the pressure plate is way too stiff and allows the raccoons to walk in, eat and leave without triggering the door. Useless.
Date published: 2019-08-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work for us. The trap doesn't spring shut. Animals can just eat the bait and leave.
Date published: 2019-08-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trap Caught the kitten in it. Not super sturdy. A larger cat bent it when we caught it. The metal plate is sharp. Cut the larger feral cat. It works but probably won’t hold up too well long term
Date published: 2019-08-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from RACCOON WRANGLER! This works perfectly! We've caught 8 raccoons and 3 opossums. In two weeks.
Date published: 2019-08-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from took precautions, worked great! brought home trap, set it up to catch a woodchuck living under the front porch. caught it in one hour. the precaution is (because it seemed the trigger may require more force than what a woodchuck weights) is place two rocks on it that were just light enough to not release door.
Date published: 2019-08-02
Rated 2 out of 5 by from The untripping trap The "trigger" is hard to push down thus the critter doesn't set off the trap I have greased it trying to make it easier to trip but to no avail
Date published: 2019-07-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly constructed Bought early in spring. First racoon caught bent every moveable part. After a lot of repairs set trap again. The second racoon totally destroyed the trap; unable to get repair parts.
Date published: 2019-07-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Raccoon problems Worked great. Plenty big enough for a raccoon. Caught it with no issues and was able to release it with ease.
Date published: 2019-07-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfect. 6 nights, 6 raccoons. Caught a raccoon each night I've put it out. Works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective Just bought this, drove all the way home with the thing just to discover when i tried to use it that it's defective. The bracket doesn't even come close to aligning with the trigger/catch bar and door, which rubs frame, won't hold.
Date published: 2019-07-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from do noy buy I bought the trap and the first time I used it,He/she had torn the spring in half and nearly off the bar. The racoon was trapped several hours before I checked it. I can't find JUST the SPRINGS. Trying to make one is nearly impossible. Finally rigged a new wire spring and once again the varmint tore up the wire. So, the design is bad. The spring that puts tension on the plate that releases the trap door is in a bad place. The item needs to provide 25 - 50 spare springs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a Poorly Made Product I have used many traps to catch a variety critters but these traps are a waste of time and effort. The critters have a great feed and a nice and relaxing place to sleep. The trip plate even works as a resting place. Very poor design! I even called the customer service line and still nothing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Door Won't Release I bought this several weeks ago and can not catch the rabbits eating my garden plants. The trigger plate is not sensitive enough on far end to release trigger mechanism. I have moved the rod at latch mechanism to most sensitive position but you can push down on the far end of the pressure plate till it hits bottom of trap and it will not release trap door. Not sure if there is a work around but very frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste your time or money on this trap 1. No instructions 2. Poorly made/design- after 1 use trap door doesn’t reset properly. I should have read reviews for this product-I wouldn’t have bought it. Will be returning this to the store. Complete waste of time and money

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work Bought the 2 pack because we needed the small one to catch chipmunks. After two days the only thing we are doing is feeding them. Maybe by the end of the summer they'll be heavy enough to spring the trap. Made some modifications and giving it one more try before it goes back.
Date published: 2019-06-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design Purchased this trap with intentions of catching squirrels. Trap door is either too sensitive or will not work. There is no in between which allows squirrels on 5 occasions to enter the trap and take the bait without being caught.
Date published: 2019-06-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from racoon feeding box if you want to feed raccoons and NOT catch them, this is a great feeding box, but you will NOT catch anything!!! The door release trigger is too strong, preventing it from releasing the door!! DO NOT BUY!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No instructions, trap inoperable Got the trap home and noticed there were no instructions. A google search brought up this link first, so I read all the q&a to see if there were any instructions available anywhere. All I saw were a bunch of people asking for instructions, all getting the same canned response: check your email. so I decided to try you tube. I found a very nice little video showing that the trap should be quite easy to set. After watching it again and again, and failing to set my own, I determined that my trap needed to be modified in order for the trigger arm to be long enough to catch the door hook. I had to cut a square out of the wire mesh down by the trigger plate to allow the arm to have enough stroke to reach the door hook. So obviously this trap wasn’t even tested to see if it would work before it left the factory. So the fact that the product didn’t work, and you have to beg for instructions, has lead me to believe that I likely will not be purchasing anything t from this company again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from defective I needed a second trap to trap woodchucks before I work on a more permanent solution. I have been using a past-purchased trap for over a year with no problems. Unfortunately I do not remember the brand. This one that I bought today has a trap door that does not seem to latch properly. The door is super sensitive to the slightest movement which means the animal would probably not set foot (paw) in the trap before it closes shut, and probably spook the animal into not coming back. Next time I will read reviews for this item. This trap was the only trap this size in the reason why online shopping is popular and customers do not frequent brick and mortar stores as much So frustrating! Now I have to drive to the store to return the item. Ugh!!
Date published: 2019-06-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total junk I bought this trap even though it was slightly damaged as it was the only one in the store. After straightening the cage , I found numerous design problems . The door was slightly short and the trip bar was too long . After about an hour of work I got it to nominally function , but I find it tripped, bait gone and nothing in the trap. I will never buy another trap from your company . Spindly constructed, under-engineered, just plain unacceptable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not trip at all This 32" trap in nothing but a groundhog feeder. Have even seen two groundhogs in it simultaneously enjoying the cantaloupe bait. Will be returning it.
Date published: 2019-06-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage Bought it to catch chipmunks. The chipmunks are having a feast. Walk in, take the bait and walk out. Tried multiple times. Same result.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Free food for Cipmunks Bought this to trap Chipmunks as it says on package with a picture of one, no way it weighs enough to trip the trap!!!! Chipmunk has had great pleasure eating everything I have put in there. This trap not for Chipmunks as stated.
Date published: 2019-06-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I have bought two of these traps. They do not work. The animal would have to step on one exact spot on the left of the trap for it to work.
Date published: 2019-05-29
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible mechanism Bought this a while back. Caught 1 possum in it and it's pretty well useless now without fixing it. Has a small spring under the pan that sits on a piece of sheet metal under the trigger to provide tension to hold the release for the door. Once the pan gets bent a little bit it becomes useless without fixing it. My fault for thinking it would be the same as the older ones. Whoever thought it was a good idea to build a trap like this probably got a raise cause it saved 3 cents per trap, but I'll never buy one of their traps again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does NOT work after one catch I bought this 3 days ago, set it out to catch chicken killer. Third night caught a cat, let it go, tonight it wont set up, some how now the rod is too short to hold. Taking it back tomorrow. Was going to get another one, but after reading all these reviews, I will get my money back and buy a different brand. This is junk! It should have lasted more than one catch of a cat!
Date published: 2019-04-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Wished I could give it a 0. My fat cat even sat on it and it didn't go off. Don't waste your money on this JUNK!
