Bought these to use for a round bale for my goats. I normally use a goat panel but with baleage they can’t pull it out well enough to keep it from going moldy. Currently using 6 gates they’re perfect cause they are chained together and they don’t get destroyed and then when I don’t need them I can use elsewhere as temporary summer gates for our summer pastures.

I build fences for a living and install lots of gates. These gates are a pretty good deal for $89.00 compared to the prices of most farm gates. I recently installed three of these gates on a farm. It’s nice bc it has the latch hook built in for the chain. A lot of farm gates don’t add this. The only issue with these gates is installing the gate holders. You need a pipe or a heavy duty wrench to twist them into the wood even after pre drilling. Otherwise well worth the price! Five stars.

Mind the hinge bolt length when choosing your post

Nice and light but sturdy and very easy to install. Hinge bolts need 4” of wood so if using a 4x4 post expect to add a 2x4 to one side to cover the bolts ends that poke out 1/2” unless you don’t screw them in all the way.
