Rated 2 out of 5 by from A lot of issues I bought this on Black Friday. I started up when I got it from my wife for Christmas presents. I did a few logs because I was so excited. I turned it off for a second to answer my phone. When I went back to start it up it made a plunging sound and wouldn’t start. I took it back and the manger was great gave me another one. I didn’t start up thinking it was brand new wouldn’t have a problem boy was I wrong. I started it up and start smoking really bad. I called the manger again and they only had one that was returned because the guy said wasn’t big enough. I did Start it up and let it run At the store. I’m crossing my fingers on this one. This was a big inconvenience to me and wasted tones of time. I filled up two log splitter full tank of gas and no reimbursement for that. Like I was saying I had 3 log splitters and had to settle for a used one. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spitting water Bought this a couple of weeks ago in new windsor NY. Saleswoman was very helpful in getting it prepped for me to tow home. Unfortunately when I tried to start it it would not start so I pulled the spark plug and the tip was covered in water.I. Cranked the engine again and more water came out so I decided to return it. The machine seemed to be well built but had been sitting outside at the store too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Tool Quality tool for the price. Splits big logs easily in upright position. In fact thats the only way we are using it, with an extra log used as a seat. Would recommend!

My pull starter will not pull start, it's stuck like the question before mine. It's a great machine except the pull cord is stuck. How do I fix it.

This engine not turning over could have several causes. We recommend calling (888) 723-6534 option 3 for technical support, or you can take the unit to a local Kohler dealer.

What size oil filter do I need for my Countyline 25 ton log splitter with Kohler engine. Can I get an engine owner's manual, not just the Owner's manual?

Asked by: JSkid
Please check email for the engine owners manual. Tractor Supply stocks a Lenz CP-752-30 filter, SKU #1822617, or you can use a P1653A or P1654A as a replacement filter. Any store selling a different brand filter should be able to cross reference those numbers for an equivalent filter.

Is it normal for some hydraulic fluid to leak around filler plug when using. Can teflon tape be used to seal it was it not tightened enough during assembly.

Asked by: Wayne1234
It is not recommended to use Teflon . Some residual fluid may seep through the threads when towing or running. The dip stick should be hand tightened. The reservoirs are not pressurized, and the vent in the Fill Plug/Dip Stick is there to allow fluid to expand and contract as the machine heats up and cools down. As long as the fluid is within the range on the dip stick, the machine will function properly. If the reservoir is filled to the full mark on the dip stick when the machine is cold, this is a possibility as the machine heats up. Ambient temperature will play a part in this as well. While we recommend to run the log splitter on level ground, this rarely happens. If the splitter is tilted side to side, with the Fill Plug on the downhill side, the fluid will reach the vent before it fills the sealed side of the tank. Spinning the splitter 180 degrees will usually resolve the issue..
