Can this pull water out of a well 20 feet or less down?

Asked by: Wesleigh
Yes, that would be from the center of the pump vertically down to the water surface of 5’, 10’, 15’, 20’. If you have a long run of pipe from the well to the pump, it would be less than 20’, 15’ or so. This is because of friction in the long run of pipe.

Will this pump work with a filter to "vacuole" out my water fountain? If not can you suggest a pump and filter?

Asked by: Mrfish2
Yes, but the filter must be on the discharge of the pump. You will have to check the filter often, so the filter does not stop the flow of the water to the fountain.

Can this pump be used with a pressure tank and switch?

Asked by: terry46
If you use a pressure switch with this it will have to be a 20/40 PSI switch as the maximum output of the pump is only 45 PSI. The tanks pre-charged pressure would have to be adjusted accordingly.

Is this product water resistant? Does it need to be covered from getting while using it as a sprinkler pump?

Asked by: Johndn31
No, this type of motor is not water resistant, when having water sprayed on it. It is able to have a little rain on the motor, for it is an ODP motor. It is best to have something like , “Dog House” over the top of the motor and pump, but only have the top half of the sides covered. This is to help with the water and sun so it does not hit the motor and pump directly.

is this product self priming?

Asked by: michael69
The pump is not considered a self-priming pump. However, after the initial prime it will maintain its prime with a check valve installed and as long as there are no leaks in the system.
