Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy composting I bought this a few weeks ago. I am brand new to composting and have read about a variety of ways to compost. This was so easy to set up and start composting immediately. PLUS, it has super convenient handles all around the barrel to mix the compost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and Easy Composting I bought the Good Ideas Compost Wizard Jr in early April 2019. The product is easy to use and the instructures are included. This is my first compost system and love the idea of making compost for my raised garden beds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes composting a breeze I am about to unload my first batch of compost into my garden soil. It took all winter for my previous composter to do what this one did in a month. I love the turning feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good size, works great We’ve wanted to get a sideways rolling compost bin for awhile, but couldn’t find one that was the right size for us. This one is perfect. It’s not too big, but not too small. Plus it’s easy to turn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Will Work! This composter will greatly simplify my composting efforts. It appears to be sturdy and turns easily on its base.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected. I have watched utube videos with people cycling thru several compost barrels before settling on one that works easily and well. This one does... without having to go thru several renditions of other more difficult designs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and use! Setting up this compost bin was really easy and very intuitive to use. So far it’s been working like a charm and there’s very minimal smell. As far as compost bins go, it’s not ugly to look at either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compost Wizard Purchased this about a month ago. My only problem is that there are no directions to help in starting the composting process. Had to go online. :-(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to our composting needs! We put it to use right away, and it is creating the additional compost product that we wanted. The instructions were very clear, so we are able to organize the dual compartments produce compost that will make our garden flourish, real soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to set up, clean, neat and tidy in the yard I have always wanted a composter but avoided purchasing as I didn't want to "junk up" my yard. This fits in well and is easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great composter We bought this for our first attempt at making compost for our garden. It is so easy to use. It has 2 sides to work with. The first side has been filled with leaves and organic kitchen scrapes, coffee grinds, egg shells etc and is doing great. Love that side 1 can be filled and working and can begin to fill side 2. Easy to turn to get air. Great quality and very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compost for days We have chickens and we were looking for something to do with the coop clean out and pine shavings. This turned out be just the ticket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and easy to use Easy sat up and turns fairly easily. Will have to see if it works. Bought as a gift for my wife and she likes it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the 2 chambers Great for keeping compost contained, and the dual chambers are great because you can maintain 2 piles at different stages of development. I recommend spraying a hose inside every now and then to aid decomposition. The lid holes are a bit small for a standard shovel to fit inside, so it will be interesting getting the material out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, easy to use composter I’ve always wanted to make dirt on my own using the leaves from the trees, grass clippings, egg shells, coffee grounds and vegetable trimmings from the house. This unit is so easy to use as it spins round and round on small wheels to mix the items. Plus there is a drain on the side to extract any liquid gold which in turn goes back into the potted plants and flower beds. I’m thrilled that we purchased this and Tractor Supply Co had a great price on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to use and it hold quite a bit of combos We are loving our composter. We live in an RV park so we have to manufacture our own good soil. It's small enough to carry to next location too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from handy machine for hard to work areas of vegetation works great in tall and thick weed/grass. easy to use and change "string"

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just getting going but seeing some flaws I bought this a couple weeks ago and have had it up and running for a little over a week with some compostable materials. It's an okay unit with a couple flaws. It has a bunch of aeration holes which is great except they allow smaller particulates to escape when turning the bin. Along those same lines the two chambers are not completely sealed from each other and I noticed some liquid and smaller particles in the side I'm not using yet. Lastly the base is not heavy on its own so the whole unit is prone to sliding around when turning. This might be solely because of where I have it located and because I'm only using one chamber causing the unit to be unbalanced but it is part of the design. I'll continue to use it and see how my first batch turns out but I'm not sure if I'd but another one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Composter I ordered this online on Thursday and was in the by Friday! Extremely easy set up - there is no assembly. Perfect for small composting operation. Easy to turn. Appears durable. Choose it because it had no metal that would eventually rust. Only suggestion: place instructions in plastic on outside of composter. I did not think there instructions until I located them under compost - ruined

How do you get the tea out of the base?

Asked by: Moonp1e
Hello. There are two ways for doing this: 1) Hook up a short hose or soaker hose to the base via the threaded port. 2) Remove the bin from the base (preferably when empty) and pour it into a bucket/container for further aerating or directly into garden soil. Thank you for your question.

Isn't the bin too heavy, when full, to dismount from the base and empty where you want it through the port hole?

Asked by: MamaBluebunny
The heaviness will depend on the compost inside, i.e. exactly how full it is and if it's wet or dry. However, this should not be too heavy to lift.

How do you drain compost tea out of base? Manual makes no mention of spout or threaded hole for hose to screw into nor is any drain spout or access visible on base in photos? Also are there holes in center of tumbler & base for tea to drain into base?

Asked by: TVglutton
The base is filled via a 1/4" hole at the center of the top area. Excess compost moisture will flow out of holes located on the circumference of the barrel and fill into the base. From there, it can be drained from the base by either attaching a 3/4" spigot (must have a male thread to connect) and then connect a hose to that, using a short hose with a male threaded end (and an inline pump for better performance) or by simply unscrewing the plug that's included and pouring the compost juice in the desired location. We are working with Tractor Supply to load additional images to better show this operation. For now you can view the video on the Dueling Tumbler to get a better idea of operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46imsOKKwyQ . Thank you for your question.

How does compost tea drain from tumbler into base? Are there holes (if so how many?) in center of BOTH tumbler & base allowing tea to drain into base? One reviewer said they had to *drill their own holes* because compost tea had no way to drain into base.

Asked by: TVglutton
There are holes located along the circumference of the bin (approximately 8 total) which allow excess moisture to leave the bin and flow onto the base. From there, the liquid channels towards the center of the base where a 1/4" hole allows the liquid into the base. Additional holes can be drilled if it seems as though liquid is not able to flow out as quickly as desired (this will also increase aeration). In this particular case, it sounds like that customer may have received a unit that was not completed properly from the manufacturer and made the holes manually instead of returning the unit. This is a rare situation and we work with our customers to rectify the situation. Thanks for the question.
