Coleman Hooligan 3-Person Backpacking Tent is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for what I got it for I bought this tent for camping in the midwest. It has seen a storm or 2 and I have never had any issues with it. At some point I plan to upgrade tents based on the other reviews of how this tent does in rugged conditions, but I might give this one a try in those kinds of conditions first because the tent seems sturdy and has plenty of reinforcement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great tent holds up to the elements, with defects Overall I like this tent. It got tested immediately on my first camping trip when we were slammed with a sudden thunderstorm which pelted it with torrential rains and 40 mph gusts. The tent held up and was dry as a bone. Very happy with that. What I was not so happy with were the few "defects" that I found immediately out of the bag. First, one of the zippers came disconnected from the track. Not a huge deal, I still have one good one. Second, on my third camping trip the pole broke. I'm in the middle of sending in a warranty request, but the part where the metal coupling meets the composite material broke. It appeared crooked to start with but I thought maybe that was intentional. Doesn't seem so. The vestibule makes setup tricky. Yes 10 minutes is possible, but it takes practice. I was a bit confused by the instructions that state there are sleeves to guide the poles. For the two main poles over the dome, yes. For the pole that supports the vestibule, no. It makes setting up the vestibule a bit tricky. That said, I love the vestibule. On a trip where it rained for an entire day my vestibule area was still dry which was helpful. Spacious and durable, just a little weird and buggy and defective. And I would never take this back packing, it's much too heavy to pack over long distances. Maybe the 2 person would be better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Affordable but not desert ready This was spacious enough but those little fire ants are brutal and could get through the bottom of the tent. Also it holds up to about 40 mph gusts but higher than that on a flat plain did snap one pole. So great for light camping but not so much for a week and a half in the desert. But it still was usable for the whole time with all these mishaps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tent I bought this tent two years ago and the first time I used this tent there was a large storm with high winds and hail that lasted 6 hours. The tent leaned in with high wind gusts up to 40 MPH and righted itself every time, the hail had no effect, and inside the tent remained dry and warm. No water ever entered the tent. This is my go to tent and I will never get rid of it .
