Item Information

Take some cold drinks on your next road trip while leaving the ice at home with a Coleman 40 qt. PowerChill Thermoelectric Cooler. More than a cooler, but not quite a refrigerator, it cools up to 40 °F below the surrounding temperature without any ice. So if you use your cooler in an environment where the temperature is 70 °F, this cooler will maintain an internal temperature around 30 °F. You can use it like you would any other cooler except, instead of throwing ice inside, you simply plug in the 12V car power adaptor. Then add your pre-chilled drinks and snacks. Your cooler will reach maximum coldness in about three hours (you can speed this up by adding Coleman ice substitutes) and stay cold as long as it's plugged in. Large enough to hold 44 cans, you'll have plenty of space for refreshments for the whole trip, and you can keep all your contents organized with the storage tray. It fits easily into almost any vehicle, especially since you can lay it down for use as a chest cooler or turn it upright to fit in narrower spaces. The door converts to open from the right or left sides to offer even more placement flexibility. No matter where you set it up or how far you travel, with this cooler, you can always be sure to have some cold refreshments on hand to keep you going during your adventure.

  • Instead of throwing ice inside, you simply plug in the 12V car power adapter and your cooler will reach maximum coldness in about three hours

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ..Great item for traveling or fishing on the Boat! ...Hello there!!! This is my 4th puchase of the Power Chill! I have (1) that is a 'Hot/Cold' and (3) 'Cold'!!!!! These coolers meet my needs perfectly!! I bought (2) extra power supplies because I have one cooler/supply that quit on me. That cooler ran 24-7 at my Fish Camp for over 18 months. Just a note: Read the labels on the cooler cooling unit. It say defrost 'Frequently'.... if you hear the 'Fan' ticking or sounding goofy.... unplug the cooker for about 45 will defrost!!! This is a great item and super $Value$!!! Semper Fi! Godspeed!! I highly recommend!!! <')\\\\\><

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a workhorse As a coast to coast commercial truck driver, I have used the Powerchill coolers since 2010. They do a good job of keeping dairy products and bottled and canned drinks cool. Even frozen microwave meals stay solid for a couple days. The cooler the outside air, the cooler the contents will stay. This cooler will freeze items as it cools to about 40 degrees under the ambient air temperature. These last about a year, plugged in 24 hours a day, five or six days a week. Ive had one fan failure and all the others have been the cigarette lighter plug wearing out. The plug is usually very hot when its plugged in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never even met expectations Opened the cooler from the packaging. Allowed the 3 hours it recommends to get to the cooling temperature, all seemed well and fair. The Next day when i am leaving for my weekend trip I load the cooler with ICE packs and the perishable foods. while hooked up via cigarette lighter (12vdc) the cooler never even got a cold. In fact, the cooler remained warm and then even got warmer just to melt the ICE packs and start to spoil the food inside. Made absolutely sure that the connections were correct, multiple times and it was a total lost of over $100 in food for the weekend. By far the biggest waste of money was purchasing the cooler for the trip, and even more so was all the food that was lost due to its failure. Quite possibly the last coleman product that I will ever buy.
