Rated 3 out of 5 by from a little different in detail I am researching hitch shackle mounts. Aluminum looks attractive to save a little weight. This design appears to do the same by welding square tubing to a small casting for the shackle attachment. (many designs are solid cast steel.) I also notice the cross-pin axis is perpendicular rather than parallel to the shackle pin axis. I wonder if it matters in practice?
