  • Demand Control intelligent load management allows you to power more than just the essentials during a power outage
  • Demand Control technology divides your home's circuits into prioritized zones - from vital to managed loads- and continuously monitors power requirements
  • Allows you to use your home as normal, with access to lights, refrigeration, electrical outlets, and your garage door openers
  • Larger loads are managed either directly from the Demand Control transfer switch, or through a load control module (sold separately) so that the generator is not overloaded
  • Demand Control will allow the managed loads to start and run when enough power is available, and restricts their operation when output is below the managed loads requirement
  • Demand Control transfer switch will automatically re-acquire the managed circuits
  • Transfer switch is service entry rated and housed in a NEMA 3R enclosure for outdoor or indoor use
  • Provides 14,000W of continuous power on propane and 12,500W on natural gas
  • Generator will perform a weekly self-diagnostic test to assure that it is ready and waiting for the next power outage
  • Generator is permanently installed outside of your home and connects directly to your home's natural gas line or propane fuel supply
  • All-weather design is rust- and corrosion-resistant and will protect the generator from the elements
  • All-weather composite mounting pad for easy installation
  • Powered by a Champion 754cc OHV V-Twin engine
  • Specially designed alternator is made of 100% copper windings that produce less than 5% total harmonic distortion (THD) to ensure safe use with even the most sensitive electronics

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Generator at a reasonable price The "why" I had been thinking about a whole home generator for years and kept putting it off, I live in the Northeast in an area where frequent storms knock power out for days at a time. Since October of 2017 I had lost power for a total of 17 days! That was the last straw! I started researching whole home generators and came across the Champion 14kw unit online. The first thing that caught my eye was the look of the unit. It has a gull-wing door design and professional clean lines to it that I started looking at it more closely. I knew that I needed at least 40 amps to run the entire house without using load-management and this unit was more than capable. I probably could have gone a little smaller wattage, though, now I feel like my home is future proofed. The "install" I contacted a few professionals and got a price for the install. Needless to say I ended up being my own general contractor in this case. I hired an electrician and someone for the propane hookup and did the rest pretty much myself and friends. I have a 500 gallon propane tank buried in the back yard so all that was needed was to dig a few trenches and bury conduit for the electrical. I also poured a concrete slab, this step wasn't totally necessary since they say you can just put crushed stone down and place it on that, but I wanted to secure the unit to the concrete to make sure there was no movement, etc. After the unit was placed and all the wiring run the last step was to connect it to the 200 amp whole home transfer switch. During the testing phase it fired off as soon as the electrician pulled the meter to make sure it was going to work. Everything went smoothly, no hiccups at all, it just started and ran as advertised. The "Support" During this install process I was in contact with Champions Sales and Support folks. The experience I had was very positive and I couldn't have asked for better support. I kept asking lots of questions and Adam Spero and the support guys never missed a beat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product - Exceeded My Expectations! Great product! I saw the unit online and was impressed with the features and price of the unit. After ordering the generator, it arrived quickly and was delivered on the day it was promised. For a 14KW generator, it was much more compact than I was expecting. My wife was hesitant to have some big, ugly piece of industrial looking equipment sitting by our house but she was pleasantly surprised by the small foot print and clean design. We hired a licensed electrician for the installation and he said it was a relatively easy install, especially vs the competition. We also hired a plumber to run a gas line from the propane tank to the generator. At a time of our choosing, the generator automatically runs once a week for 15 minutes so we know it will be ready when the time comes. While it is not silent, it is much quieter than I was expecting. We can hear it running in the rooms nearest to the generator but in other parts of the house, you can barely hear a low, dull sound (but only if the house is quiet and you are listening for the generator). The generator we bought automatically comes on if the power goes out; we do not have to do anything. While we aren't exactly hoping for a power outage, we are no longer scared of one.

Our lake camp uses fuel oil for both our furnace and hot water. Can the Champion system be converted to burn fuel oil instead of propane or natural gas?

Asked by: MrHoodie
Sorry, the machines cannot be converted to run on such a fuel.

Just read the answer on this, but is that actually 5 gallons of LP per hour at half load? My current 16 kw standby Generac which I am looking to replace uses 1.6 gallons per hour half load. Why such a huge difference between these comparable generators?

Asked by: Stan NJ
Hello Stan, The provided link will no longer load this product page for me, so I can't see what is written elsewhere at this time. On our website though,, we list the propane fuel consumption on this model as follows: Propane Fuel Consumption at 1/2 Load - 1.6  gal/h | Propane Fuel Consumption at Full load - 2.6 gal/h
