When running this generator, using the 240V/30A twist-lock receptacle, are you still able to run power from the 120V/20A receptacle at the same time?

Asked by: Alan Z
No, on this model, you can activate only one side of the panel at a time. Either the 240V side or the 120V side.

I know this is within the watt spectrum for a 15k BTU rv AC and has a 30A receptacle, but I see 15 & 20A breakers. Can I not pull 25-30A from this?

Asked by: Cody87
This machine is configured for 240 and 120 volt output. The two 15A breakers work in parallel when in the 120V setting for 30A. When you switch to the 240V setting, the breakers are in series and you get 15A.

Will this generator run my well for my house?

Asked by: Skip1234
If your well requires less than 18.75A at 240V or 37.5A at 120V to start, then it will power it. Your well pump will have a voltage and wattage rating on it's label or in it's manual. For example, if an electric motor is rated for 120V at 10A, that is 1,200 watts. We must consider that it can take 2x-3x the running wattage of a motor driven device like a well pump to start. That puts the peak potential power requirement at 3,600 watts. It is likely less than a full 3x, but this is a great rule of thumb to use when shopping for a generator.

On 30 amp will it power a fema trailer and everything inside

Asked by: Slingblade85
That's a very difficult question for one to answer as we are not sure what is inside a FEMA trailer. This generator is large enough to run up to a 15K BTU rooftop AC and some entertainment items like a TV, game console, laptop, lights. If your load would be comparable to this, then I would say this machine is of the appropriate size.

I trying to use this generator to power a 120V/20A flux core mig welder. On the higher power setting it continues to trip the 20A breaker on the welder. Could it be that this breaker is faulty and needs to be replaced? Replacement part #?

Asked by: hiredman
Chances are the welder is drawing more than 20A. Is the output of the welder 20A or is the input 20A? Also a welder is an inductive load that can draw much more than the running amperage when you start it up or begin a weld. This amperage can spike. will this generator run a mig flux welder that works off 20amp 120volt.

Asked by: jasper92
It will very likely run the welder. One way you can find out is to call the welder manufacturer and ask them the different wattage draws at duty cycle levels to find out if it is within the generator's provided ratings.

What does the voltage gauge do, I mean what's the purpose of the voltage gauge? Does it show how much the generator is putting out, or how much its pulled down? Like does it show how much load it's under our what?

Asked by: Jerry410
It is a diagnostic tool for the customer. It displays the output voltage. It does not show how much load you are consuming.

will this generator run the Forney 100st welder

Asked by: festus71
This welder has a variable output, check with the manufacturer to see what the amperage input is as they do not list it in their specs. You will need to know this in order to calculate the wattage consumption.

Does this generator start and operate a 15,000 BTU RV A/C Unit at 9,000 - 10.000 feet above sea level (altitude) and/or can you get a High Altitude Jet Kit for these elevations?

Asked by: Jack Wolfgang
I would say no, it will not. At least not without some additional help from a hard or soft start capacitor kit. You lose 3.5% of the machines power for every 1,000 feet of elevation you travel. At 10K feet that is 35% of the generator's capacity leaving you with about 2,900 watts of starting power. Even with a high altitude jet in place, which we do have available, you do not ever get back this lost power. An altitude jet will reduce the fuel flow to match the reduced air density, but not restore horsepower.

Asked by: Jerry410
Hello Jerry, You can absolutely put our Champion 40065 wheel kit on this machine. The specifications are not intended to mean you cannot add a wheel kit, but instead, that a wheel kit is not included. Thank you.

What is the difference between the one listed as Champion Power Equipment 3650-Watt RV Ready Portable Generator (EPA) and the one listed as Champion Power Equipment 3650-Watt RV Ready Portable Generator (CARB) Other than the $100 price increase for (CARB)

Asked by: Pjfederico7
CARB stands for California Air Resource Board. The only difference between these machines is in the emissions output. The CARB unit has a catalytic converter in the muffler system for example. There is no functional or noticeable difference to the end user. If you live in California, you are required to purchase the CARB unit. If you do not live in California, you can buy either one and still bring it into California with no issue. It just cannot be sold in the state. Thank you.

Can the Champion wheel kit fit this model? What is max amps for the 120v plug? I have a 15 amp circular saw and was curious if it would work.

Asked by: tomkatzz
Yes, this is a Champion generator, so our Champion wheel kit will fit it. On this particular model you can use the axle style wheel kit, model C40065 OR the axle free style wheel kit model 40065. The maximum output of the 120V RV outlet is 30A and the household style plug is 20A. If you have a 15A saw, remember that it will take at least twice that to start at that saw. At 120V and 15A that is 1,800 watts. To start it, it will take at least 3,600 watts.

Asked by: Jerry410
Hello Jerry, Champion wheel kit model 40065 fits this machine. The picture does not accurately represent the wheel mounts. If you download the manual and review the parts diagram, you will find that the wheel mounts are included on the frame. Sorry for any confusion.

I purchased this generator for a pellet stove. The mfg. said the generator needs to be 1000 watt rated with a deep cycle marine battery and a pure sine wave converter. Will this generator work and if not what do I need?

Asked by: Doc P
As we have discussed in our email exchange and elsewhere around the web, the manufacturer is telling you that you need a pure sine wave to run the pellet stove. Something that only an inverter generator or grid power can provide... alternatively, you can use the line conditioner I recommended. If you have any additional questions, please contact me at SUPPORT@CPEAUTO.COM attn. Brian D. Thank you.

is this safe for computers and such like an inverter?

Asked by: sidd
These generators will put out the standard THD rating of 15% or less unless otherwise noted. They will produce a sine wave, not a modified or square wave. This is perfectly acceptable for running common commodities found in your home such as TVs, computers, your appliances, etc. THD is a measure of the deviation of a sine wave from a "perfect" sine wave. All electricity, including line electricity, has measurable THD. Some equipment may require a line conditioner, but these instances are rare.
