C.E. Schmidt Men's Steel Toe Lace Up Boot, 6 in. H is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I've been wearing these for about 4 years now. My job has me walking about 3 miles a day and standing in muddy holes often. They hold up great. Only draw backs to them I've seen in that time is the shoe laces they come with always need to be replaced before the boots do. Plus the steel toes always pinches my toes, and I don't have especially wide feet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1 year review I brought these boots last year, boots had a comfortable fit right out the box and I bought a size 10.5 but normally I wear a 10.5 medium. Higher priced boots lasted 3 - 4 months, these boots lasted 6 months. These boots will be my go to brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my second pair I bought my first pair (8”) over three months ago for at work and they seem to be holding up well. As a hydraulic technician I’m lucky to get six months out of a pair of boots and I’ve tried many different types and brands. I brought my second pair (6 inch) to work in the yard, I chose the six-inch because they’re easier to drive in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Have bought these several times in the past. Strenuous use and activity everyday they can last 6 months to a year, a little longer. The soles can be replaced on the bottoms but by that time the foot bedding that the shoe is built on may start to wear out. As much as replacing the soles cost you can buy another pair of the same shoes. The boots are not breathable and will always have a wet feeling on the inside if you don’t dry them out. I have added several different types of inserts underneath the ones that came with them for extra support. They make a steel toe and a non steel toe. Usually go a size bigger in steel toe. I have recently compared these shoes to red wing shoes and you can’t tell a difference between them. Overall for the price there not bad. If you have heel pain or arch pain, you should possibly consider a different insert on the inside. Wolverine shoes inserts will work on these shoes as well.

I purchased the 6" steel toe boots from my local TSC about a month ago. The seam between the top hook and back padding separated is there a warranty on the boots?

Same thing for me. I’ve had a pair of Wolverine 6” steel toes that lasted two years. A pair of walmart steel toes lasted for 8 months.  Schmidt 6” steel toes I bought in March 2018: sole is already falling off (not even 3 months)

For this boot (SKU # 104726499), it looks like there is stitching attaching the bottom of the shoe to the leather . Can you verify that the stitching is actually connecting the bottom of the show (the welt) to the leather upper part of the shoe?

Asked by: Ken3
Yes this is a welt construction so the stitching does get attached to the leather on the upper part of the boot.

Has CE Schmidt done anything to resolve the issue with the soles coming unglued? There are a lot of reviews describing the same sole problem. I too have a pair of old CE Schmidt boots that the sole is coming off of. Have they fixed this quality issue?

What do I use on my boots to clean them up?

Asked by: 1Michael423
Soap and water works best. A spray water-sealant is also helpful as additional protection.
