Rated 4 out of 5 by from Generally good I have a big 16.3 gelding who severely damaged his hick about 10 years ago. As arthritis sets in, he has been having more difficulty getting up and rubs the front of the fetlock raw if not bandaged daily. With the boots, I still bandage under the boots, but only change weekly now. They are easy to take off and on and are not too hot in the summer. The front does wear out though, I’m on my third pair in a year. The first year, I had two sets and rotated them so I could keep them somewhat clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blind Mare My blind 26yr old Standardbred mare gets bedsores as well as hits her gate at times with her legs. I've only used the Cashel Stall Sore Boots for 1 week now only for overnight use is her stall and they have completed protected the pastern. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Troublesome and time-consuming to fasten To put these boots on, you must thread them through a thin metal ring... on your knees, under a 1200 pound animal, in 0 degrees, with freezing fingers, at night, in a dimly lit stall. The straps are unnecessarily long too. The straps should just fasten around with velcro like regular boots; the ring is pointless! The interior is fleece, which is a shavings magnet. However, they have provided protection for the past couple months (used 12 hours at night in a deeply bedded stall). Haven't washed so can't report on that yet.

What size is recommended for a Quarter Horse?

Asked by: duba92269
The regular SSB will work great. SSB-L is for Warmblood , Warmblood cross breeds.

How do sizes run? Does this work on the back leg too? I have a Quarter Horse with a back leg injury. Would I need a M or L? Thank you!

Asked by: duba92269
The manufacturer recommends a L for this application.
