This horse food is a highly fortified balance of nutrients and an exclusive blend of natural additives to meet the increased nutritional demands of the senior horse due to less efficient digestive and metabolic systems. This unique formulation of Blue Seal horse feed is also recommended for certain senior horses with challenged digestive and/or metabolic systems. Includes 50 lb. bag of senior horse feed. Suggested program is based on offering grass or mixed grass hays. If feeding legume hays or rich pasture, consult your Kent Nutrition Group Feed Representative or Customer Service.
- Sentinel Senior is also recommended for horses with challenged digestive and/or metabolic systems - contact your Kent Nutrition Group Feed Representative for specific recommendations. Some good quality hay should be offered to help maintain good digestive function and prevent boredom.
- DAILY GUIDE: Approximate feed weight to volume: 0.85 lb = 1 quart. It is necessary to adjust the feeding of Sentinel Senior to the condition of the horse. Provide salt and plenty of fresh water free choice.
- COMMENTS: for additional mineral-vitamin fortification, or if Sentinel Senior is fed below the recommended feeding range, feed the appropriate Kent Nutrition Group Equine Supplement, depending on type of hay being fed. The suggested feeding program is intended solely as a guide. The variables of management, environment, and breed may dictate changes in the animal's requirements.
We recommend in most cases, you slowly transition your animal when changing to a Blue Seal product or even between Blue Seal products. This allows the animal's digestive tract to properly adjust to the feed. To help with the transition, we recommend slowly mixing the new Blue Seal product in with your current feed and then gradually increase over the course of one week to 100% of the new Blue Seal product.
