Atlantic Hay Alfalfa, 20 lb. is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely alfalfa Love this bagged alfalfa, it is usually dust free, low in thick stems, high in leafs. It's perfect for my old horse who can no longer eat hay, but can make his way through this. Any leftover stems he can't handle get thrown into my other horses' stalls, and they gobble them right up. Don't know what I would do without this brand of bagged alfalfa.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Less waste Always clean hay, usually fine stemmed with lots of leaves. There is much less waste than traditional baled alfalfa.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 10 pounds of hay, 10 pounds of dust I use this with very young rabbits and nursing does. I am going to start looking for a local source of small amounts of hay, because thus hay is chopped into very short pieces and about half the bag is dust which my rabbits can't eat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this! Horses love the taste! I purchased this brand because it uses Non gmo alfalfa.

Can lamb eat alfalfa?

Asked by: Artie71
Immature grass hay or leafy alfalfa is usually the best feed for sheep. Mature sheep can get by on good-quality grass hay, but lambs do better with a legume—harvested while still growing so that it has finer stems

Has this been beetle tested?

Asked by: mkm0009
The hay is grown in an area that is not prone to having beetles, and Atlantic Hay does have a robust Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program. All of their Alfalfa runs down an inspection line before being bagged.

I’m unsure from the description, is this a chopped hay product? My older horse can no longer eat regular alfalfa hay because of poor teeth. The vet has recommended chopped hay.

Asked by: DLO18
Yes, it is chopped hay.

We can't recommend this product for guinea pigs, as it is intended only for livestock. Please contact your local animal health professional to ask if Alfalfa Hay would be suitable for your guinea pig's diet.
