Rated 1 out of 5 by from It was broken when I went to pick it up Tried to buy a replacement for bucket I bought the previous year. Ordered online to pick up at store and even though they excepted my order it was not available at the store. Drove to a different store where they tried to sell me a bucket that was broken. These are cheap plastic. They do the trick but don’t expect them to last more than one year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for cold weather Great product at a good price. Really a lifesaver when unusually cold weather made it impossible to keep water buckets ice-free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made my life much easier during the cold snap. No more hauling water for my goats twice a day and dealing with frozen buckets! Hopefully it lasts a long time.

Should this bucket be plugged into a 12 gauge outdoor rated extension cord?

Asked by: Coldhorse
We do recommend a heavy gauge extension cord, 14 or 16 gauge. And it is recommended to use a click shield over the connection where they plug together.

What happens if the horse drinks all the water and the bucket doesn't have any water while plugged in? Will it harm the heating element or bucket?

Asked by: cgipson
Yes, lack of water in the bucket will cause damage to the heating element and eventually cause it to stop working.

What happens if the horse drinks the bucket dry? Will the bucket melt or catch on fire?

Asked by: Sweetwater
It will damage the bucket. The outside temperature will make the thermostat continuously cycle on and off. This will lessen the life expectancy of the bucket.
