Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this product. Been using for a year. My horse is very hot tempered and high strung. This calms her down enough to work with her. She gets 2 scoops a day with her feed. More if I need her calmed more without drugging her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Biggest value for calming supplements Amazing product. Even picky eaters love it, and it calms even proud cut geldings or in my case a marish mare while starting her undersaddle

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Via Calm works I was referred by a friend to try this - it really does work. My husband's horse doesn't do well in a trailer for longer hauls, and this really helped him to stay calm. For my horse, this is working great for me when riding in larger groups where he tends to get excited. He's calmer and more focused.

Does it work as good when given as needed instead of daily?

Asked by: Mandyv
It depends on your intended use. If you have a horse which tends to be nervous, agitated or high-strung most of the time, it would be best to use daily. If your horse only tends to get nervous or agitated before events or other forms of excitement then use as needed is best.

Considering getting this for use of trailering my horse. He's a nervous loader and occasionally nervous traveler. Would this help with that level of anxiety?

Asked by: AmCline
It will have a calming effect on the animal. However, we recommend speaking with a licensed veterinary professional for comprehensive assistance with any issue.

If I give the 4 scoop max dose, how long do I have to wait before giving the next dose. Lets say I am going to an all day (9am-6pm) horse show and give this prior to leaving my house/barn. Can I give it again before we get on the road to go home?

Asked by: HMay
You can safely double or even triple the dose, without approaching a dangerous level of the key ingredients.

seems it works on horses but will it work on 4-h show calves with my 10 year old grandson handling them ?

Asked by: want to know
This product is highly discouraged for use in calves. The I-Tryptophan levels are not well tolerated by cattle, as it is absorbed it can cause oxidation of the lungs and Acute Bovine Pulmonary Edema Syndrome.

We recently bought a mare who seems to be somewhat herd sour but not always. Would this be a good choice for her and do you think it would help with this behavior.

Asked by: B Betty
Via-Calm provides support for anxious horses, which would make it an excellent choice for a mare with separation anxiety.
