Item Information

The Tower Chicken Coop by Advantek is a small, backyard chicken-friendly coop constructed of weatherproof cypress fir and a waterproof asphalt roof. Perfect as a starter chicken coop, it's a great place for chickens to rest at night after spending the day safely free roaming or in a large run. This chicken coop provides pull-out drop pans, easy access ramp, a detachable roof, and a nesting box. The Tower Chicken Run is not included, but is a great way to add some safe roaming space for your chickens. The Tower Chicken Coop comes in two sizes: Small (Auburn) and Large (Craftsman Style). Advantek's GoneGreen line of rabbit hutches and chicken coops are a great way to safely shelter an animal from the elements. Grown in government-controlled, sustainable forests, these shelters are constructed from durable cypress fir. Not only is it a lightweight and beautiful wood, but it's also the ideal wood for outdoor use. The fir is naturally insect-repellent and weatherproof which makes it virtually rot-proof. The insulating asphalt roof makes the chicken coop warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Additionally, all of the hardware used for this coop's assembly is galvanized to prevent rust. The charming coop allows 2 chickens to rest comfortably within Advantek's humane industry standards. These standards come from a summary of various reports and backyard chickening publications. They include having 2-3 sq. ft. per chicken for roosting and space, 1 sq. ft. on the roosting bar, a large nesting box per up to 3 chickens, and at least 3-6 sq. ft. of running space (if not free roam). This is because chickens living in humane conditions are healthier, live longer, and produce more eggs.

  • A small, backyard chicken-friendly chicken coop great as a starter coop for 1-2 chickens
  • Requires assembly with all hardware included as well as a removable roof and hinged door on nesting box for easy access
  • Ramp closes for complete containment and window slides to vent
  • Chicken coop perfect for free-roam chickens or with Tower Chicken Run (not included)
  • Number of chickens suggested based on in-depth research of minimum space requirements and consumer demand

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hexagon coop We bought this for bunnies, good thing too! The floor is cheasy, and not reinforced. After a few days it would let go and drop the hens out. I made a new floor frame from 1 x2's and covered it in 1/2 square cage wire. Easy cleanup for Bunny dropping that way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from secure the floorboards We bought this coop last summer for our small backyard flock, its adorable, it was affordable, it was easy to put together, easy to clean. What we did not anticipate was that the floor of the coop was separate pieces that could not be secured. We found this out when a 40 lb dog dog went underneath the coop, pushed up the floorboards releasing panicked chickens into the yard, and we lost 3/4 of our flock in just a few minutes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So cute! Cute little coop. A tad smaller than I envisioned, but I don't need a big coop at this time. I would like to see a second nesting box added. I will probably purchase a second coop in the future. All in all, I think this is a perfect backyard starter coop. Space saving, easy accesses, and quality wood. Price was reasonable as well.

Can this work for ducks until they are old enough to be released into the wild? Ducks need to be 3 months old or older before released.

Hi There: The Tower Coop was designed specifically for chickens and egg production. Unfortunately, We did not design this coop for other birds and can't suggest it to be used otherwise. Thank you, -Advantek Customer Service

could it be used for feral cat shelter

Asked by: psbw
Hello, The Tower has been designed specifically for chickens, but we have had customers use this for cats as well. Just keep in mind that's not particularly what it was designed for.

We would like to use this as a brooder coop for 3 pullets and one grown hen until the young ones are old enough to join our larger flock. Given the chick would be small, would that be suitable given the size of the coop?

Asked by: Rashella
HI There: Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, using The Tower as a brooder coop for three pullets and a full grown hen would work well. However, depending on the type of chickens you have, monitor their growth to ensure it doesn't get too crowded within The Tower prior to adding them to your flock. .
