Rated 4 out of 5 by from 5 Gal.Gas Can This gas can works great. Easy to fill up and easy to pour. Most cans you find now days they make them too complicated to work but this can is easy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible design. I would not purchase again...... The safety spout is a pain to use. I urchased 2 of them and I am looking for new spouts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good price - don’t like the nozzle Well made container for a good price. Did not like the supplied nozzle - awkward to use and leaks.
Date published: 2019-07-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good can, engineering is pathetic YOU MUST REMOVE THE INTERNAL FILTER OR YOU CANNOT FILL THIS CAN WITHOUT IT SPILLING OUT GAS AT THE PUMP. Once that's done, no issues.
Date published: 2019-06-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Gas Can if you buy a new spout Modern gas spouts are useless. Get this can then buy a spout with a vent kit and it works great. They should sell this can with no spout for $5 less.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Midwest 5gal gasoline can These plastic gas cans are garbage impossible to figure out how to get them to open. They have special lock spout so gas doesn’t spill I ended up throwing their spout away and used my own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Usable, with modifications. I bought one of these today because I needed another new gas can for personal use. Recently I bought a few of these for the place that I work because we run mowing crews and need lots of gas cans. They work fine for fueling up zero turn mowers and the like. The FIRST thing that you must do with these before you even attempt to put any gas in them from a gas station pump is to PULL OUT the ridiculous "screen" or spark thingie (or whatever it's called). If you don't be prepared to spill a BUNCH OF GAS the first time you try filling one of these up. I noticed this the first time I tried filling one up at work. I have an older version of this same can (Midwest) that I've probably had for at least 10-15 years. Back then they didn't put these ridiculous screens in them. Use a stout pair of needle nose pliers to twist and pull the plastic screen out and then throw that in the trash. Then the can is easy to fill up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible product Didn't know there was a permanent insert inside the can. It is impossible to fill at the pump, because this brilliantly placed insert causes the gas to spray back out. I sprayed 55 cents worth of gas all over the ground and myself with my initial attempt to fill the can. The built-in insert prevents properly filling the can. Complete waste of money and time. I've been using gas cans nearly daily for decades and I've never seen such junk. How poor of an engineer do you have to be to have an epic fail designing a gas can?!?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The stupidiest can yet I bought this about 2 weeks ago and did not know it had some stupid insert inside to stop or slow the gas pump nozzel. Upon inserting the nozzel into the can the gas shot right back out on me covering my shoes and jeans and the drive. It took 15 min to fill with a small trickle and me bent over the can for the hole time with the nozzle barely inserted into the stupid can. Got it home filled atv and it will not empty all the way with the insert inside. Got a pocket knife and pliers tried to get it out and finally it fell inside the can. I replace the can nozzle with a good one that actually lets me fill a atv lawmower and will just use it with some kind of plastic nozzle inside the can

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Absolute worst can I have ever owned Constantly shuts off the gas pump with its “safety” features. I literally just walked away from 3 gallons of free fuel perks gas because if this ridiculous can. Total garbage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great can. Replace the nozzle. This is a great can. It's plastic, it appears durable, and it holds fuel. I also purchased an EZ-pour nozzle to replace the piece of junk nozzle that came with it. All the negative reviews are knocking the nozzle. Don't knock the can! Just know that if you pick one of these up to also pick up an EZ-pour!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gas can Holds fuel as it should. Put fuel in, and when you need to fill something up pour it in.
Date published: 2018-07-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can is fine, spout is garbage I bought this can, but threw away the spout and replaced it with an ezflow. The spout is junk but the can is fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good deal This is a good light weight gas can that works very well for lawnmower gas..
Date published: 2017-10-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gas can Purchased in anticipation of hurricane but thankfully I didn’t need them.
Date published: 2017-09-28
Rated 3 out of 5 by from spout lock is hard to engage The spout has a locking mechanism that is very hard to engage. Designed to unlock when inserted into talk opening but created spills and certainly would be impossible for an elderly or small person to manage.
Date published: 2017-09-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk This container is the same as any other carb compliant one. Between trying to hold a full container up and work the locking collar, you are more likely to spill more fuel that if you use an old style can.
Date published: 2017-09-11
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly designed spout 1.) the cap gets in the way; 2.) the "hook" isn't large enough -- slips off rim of tank; 3.) it will only vent if you hold the can at a shallow angle; 4.) pour rate is slow
Date published: 2017-09-07
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Spout ever designed! These were on sale at the local supply store. Looked like a great deal. First time to use it, I filled up my watercraft. Standing in knee deep lake water, with a few waves, leaning over holding over thirty lbs. of gas, (bad back didn't help either), It took what seemed like 10 minutes to empty the five gallons! There is no air vent, so the air has to gurgle past the outflowing fuel, making it very, very slow! I absolutely hate this product! I will see if I can adapt a different spout, and install a vent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why does Tractor Supply continue to sell this junk Look at all the bad reviews this can has but yet they continue to sell this junk
Date published: 2017-09-02
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like the shape, Spout is a pain and pours slow Just as the title says, like the square shape/size but the spout pours too slow
Date published: 2016-11-11
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Scepter gas can My last review was disapproved. Probably because of liability reasons. We don't want to offend somebody too stupid to use a gas can. This one will get disapproved as well but somebody will at least get a laugh out of it. This is a cheap gas can. All new gas cans suck but this was the cheapest. It's the EPA's fault, not Scepter.

How do you actually use it. I tried to use it on my Snow Blower and nothing came out of the nozzle. I had to take the spout off and use a funnel.

Asked by: RanSoft
First, please make sure your spout is installed and screwed onto your container properly to prevent leaking. While the container is on the ground click in the red safety lock located on your spout. This will un-lock your spout for use. Pick up your container and place the tip of the spout inside your fuel tank. Using the black notch on the spout, rest notch on tank lip, push downward to retract spout. This will start the flow. Please remember you need to click in red safety lock before each use. is this can vented?

Asked by: CaptBullardo
These cans have CARB compliant nozzles. There is a plunger at the front that allows the container to vent in air.

Does this can have a handle on the rear or just an indentation?

Asked by: Donbl
Donbl, we have a patented design with two handles for ease of use. One handle on Top and one handle in Back (rear) of container. Our larger fuel containers are one of the easiest to hold.
