Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4health grain free My dogs kept vomiting itching and breaking out. With 3 rescue dogs all different breeds they we’re going through that my vet suggested grain free food. I tried one brand and it didn’t work. I was cautious on the 4 health but so far my dogs favorite is grain free chicken, white fish and potato’s. No more welts or breakouts. Just happy dogs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So pleased... My standard poodle loves this food! He used to wait a little while to eat his previous food. But, with this one, he is excited as soon as I put it in his bowl. It is very healthy, which makes me feel that I'm doing my best for him. No fillers or preservatives that I am aware of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chicken Free Dog Food We have a dog with a sensitivity to chicken and it is hard to find dog food (hard or soft) without chicken meat, meal, by-products or broth in it. We have been very happy with this food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4health Grain Free dry dog food Our two dogs (a 65 pound American Bulldog, and a 6 pound Chihuahua) LOVE this food! Our vet had a list showed what to look for in a dry dogfood (+for good ingredients, - for not goof for dogs) and the Health grain free feeds were at the top of the good list (a a PRICE VERY much lower than some of the National brands). Check with your Vet, because he/she would know YOUR dog better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots to choose from. Been using 4health for several years. Only to find out that my dog had sensitivity to beef, pork and chicken. I switched to the White Fish and potato and have had good luck with it. Thanks for having a variety to choose from!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food for 4 BIG DOGS Our 4 dogs love it. We have two mastiffs, a doberman, and a mastiff-doberman mix. We go through about a bag a week, along with the grain-free wet dog food as well. We have found that this brand makes their bowel movement stink less than food that is not grain free and even other brands of grain-free food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good... 4health grain free whitefish and potato dog food seems to be a winner for us so far. Our girl loves it and gobbles it up every time. To me, it's kind of smelly, but as long as she likes it... Prior to this we've fed a rather pricey limited ingredient food, as our girl has minor skin and digestive issues. I do like that this food has probiotics in it. More time will truly tell, but hopefully we can make the switch permanent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food! Great food! I have a lab that is allergic to chicken. Within a couple weeks I could see the difference in her coat and red and runny eyes. She has been on this food since she was about 6 months old. I wish there was a whitefish in the regular formula, but, I have no worries with grain-free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They love it! Got this on the vet's recommendation to look for fish - but I'm not a salmon fan - and the dogs' skin cleared up, coats got shiny, and it's a bargain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Taste/Gassy/Pudding like Stools Our German Shepherd have always loved the taste of the four health dog food. We fed the dog food to our two previous German Shepherds. So we thought we would try it with the two that we have now. I remember why we switched from this food to a different food now. The dogs love the taste and have no problem eating it! However, it makes them very gassy and their stools are a pudding texture, which is very hard to pick up off from the ground. We switched them to a different dog food and their stool is normal texture and not pudding like anymore.

You mentioned calcium content as 1.1% for the Whitefish/potato GF.  What does that convert to in mg/cup?  My dog is being bred and I will need to adjust her calcium intake.

Asked by: Gracie6516
The level below is based on a typical analysis of the formula. Calcium: 1.01 g/cup

I have an 8 year old golden with skin issues Would this be a good product for him ?

I would recommend to look at our 4Health special care sensitive skin formula. It contains a hydrolyzed salmon protein and other natural ingredients that organically appease skin and coat sensitivities in dogs.

We are happy with the way she is eating but we have noticed that she is panting  after eating and doing her job 3 to 4 times a day (#2).  Is that normal or should I be concerned.  She use to only #2 once a day and only panted when she was hot.

Asked by: kldunn
The panting after eating could be a wide variety of things ranging from eating to fast, being hot, being thirsty, stress if eating in a stressful area, pain if they have a painful tooth/mouth to unrelated to diet. I would recommend to contact your veterinarian about the panting to rule out possible causes if just related to eating. The bowl movement can change when transitioning over to a different diet. This can be the result of the different ingredients, different amount of fiber, etc.

How bid is the kibble? I have small breeds but noticed the small breed formula has chicken. My boy is allergic to chicken, and they both do better on the fish type foods.

Asked by: Bakin
The kibble is shaped like a puffed nugget, about the size of a small marshmallow.

What is the shelf life? Takes my dogs 2 mos to eat 30#

Asked by: GMurphy
When the food is stored properly, it will be good up until the best by date located on the bag. Our products have a year shelf life from the date of manufacture up to the best by date on the bag. We do not recommend feeding past the best by date.
