4health Grain Free Whitefish & Potato Formula Dog Food, 16 lb. Bag is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 681.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog food your cat will steal. My dog loves fish. He expects a share of my sardines, dried haddock, and about any other fish product I may have. I figured we would try some of this food and the dog loves it. It wasn't too long before we noticed the cat sneaking some of the dog food. Normally dogs steal cat food, not the other way around, but this even meets a cat's standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4Health Whitefish and Potato We love the 4Health whitefish and potato dog food. Our Frug has stomach issues, and this food is not only affordable but it works with his issues. Only problem we have, is our local store never seems to have the larger bags in stock. So I order online now and it’s delivered. Not a huge deal

Questions & Answers

I have an 8 year old golden with skin issues Would this be a good product for him ?

Asked by: Bodi bear
I would recommend to look at our 4Health special care sensitive skin formula. It contains a hydrolyzed salmon protein and other natural ingredients that organically appease skin and coat sensitivities in dogs.

We are happy with the way she is eating but we have noticed that she is panting  after eating and doing her job 3 to 4 times a day (#2).  Is that normal or should I be concerned.  She use to only #2 once a day and only panted when she was hot.

Asked by: kldunn
The panting after eating could be a wide variety of things ranging from eating to fast, being hot, being thirsty, stress if eating in a stressful area, pain if they have a painful tooth/mouth to unrelated to diet. I would recommend to contact your veterinarian about the panting to rule out possible causes if just related to eating. The bowl movement can change when transitioning over to a different diet. This can be the result of the different ingredients, different amount of fiber, etc.

How bid is the kibble? I have small breeds but noticed the small breed formula has chicken. My boy is allergic to chicken, and they both do better on the fish type foods.

Asked by: Bakin
The kibble is shaped like a puffed nugget, about the size of a small marshmallow.

We have 5 dogs. 2 Labs, 1 Great Pyrenees and 2 "littles" (Chihuahu/Poodle). Would this food be good for all breeds/sizes? Also, one is diabetic and has Cushings. Is this a good food for her as well?

Asked by: Lisap9
Our grain free white fish and potato formula is an all life stages formula, and can be fed to puppies, adults and seniors. It is formulated for all breeds as well. The kibble size is not considered a small breed sized kibble, so the kibble size might not work for your smaller pets. We do not have prescription diets or diets labeled for Diabetes or Cushings disease. We would recommend to present the formula and its ingredients to your veterinarian to see if they feel it would be a good fit for your pets.

Did you recently change the source or the ingredients in this food? I noticed this new bags color is different and my dog who hasn't had an issue on it before is now having an issue with the food.

Asked by: Lisa1414
The formulation has not changed. There are natural variations in the color of the ingredients used. There are no chemicals or dyes added to the food to control the color of the finished product. As a result, the color can vary in the finished product. For more information, please contact customer service at 800-442-0402 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, CST, M-F.

How do I quickly switch my dog off taste the Wild and back on 4Health grain-free whitefish and potato formula? He has been having terrible skin issues and health concerns about taste of the Wild safety issues lately

Asked by: Max2011
Some pets may have sensitive stomachs and could potentially experience digestive upset from a sudden diet change. Because of this, it is usually recommended making a gradual transition between foods. Begin with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the new food mixed with 75% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet. Feed this blend for 2-3 days and then change the mix to 50% of each for 2-3 days. Then feed 75% of the recommended daily portion of the new food with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet for a final 2-3 days before fully switching.
