Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loyal customer for 5 years with 4 Health The breeder we got our Doberman from has been a breeder for over 25 years and after much research this is what he uses. So when we got our male from him 5 years ago we switched to this. We have a very healthy 5 year old and 7 year old female Doberman and now an almost 2 year old lab. Have never had any issues with this. Seems great for us. Have only recently heard issues about grain free being bad but have not switched our dogs yet. Waiting for more concrete proof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dogs gas issues have greatly improved My dog had bad gas, I had read that the grain in the foods they eat could be causing this. I have been feeding him this food for a while now and he seems to be doing much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was great until they added chicken This used to be a great fit for my skin sensitive golden retriever until they changed the formula to include chicken fat. Out of nowhere my golden started having skin issues- come to find out her food formula has changed. I’m very disappointed and hope we can get her back on track.

Can you tell me how a Chihuahua & a Jack Russell should be eating daily?

Asked by: TAMI411
In regards to the two dogs mentioned in the question, Chihuahua & Jack Russell Terrier, because there is no actual weights provided we must use standard sizing for adult dogs for each breed. • Chihuahua: ½ cup per day (assuming a standard sized adult dog (not pregnant or lactating) of 3-5lbs • Jack Russell Terrier: 1 cup to 1 ¾ cups per day (assuming a standard sized adult dog (not pregnant or lactating) of 10-20lb

Same question as concerned11. What facilitated the decision for no taurine in the grain free formula versus all the other 4health which have taurine? Are you planning to change that?

Asked by: Dbryan2
This products recipes are supplemented with taurine to help prevent unintentional taurine deficiencies. Additionally, there is no specific dietary consumption level of taurine recommended for dogs as their bodies are normally able to create taurine as needed.

What's in beef meal?

Asked by: KDCJDC
The beef meal in our 4Health products are the muscle protein and bone from the beef that have been cooked, dehydrated, and ground into a meal form. These meals do not contain beef by-products. The dehydrated form of the beef protein source provides a more concentrated source of protein without adding excess moisture that is in the fresh beef.

The feeding guidelines are confusing. How much should I be feeding my 7lb Maltese daily?

Asked by: cdbivins1
We recommend feeding no less than ½ cup, and no more than 1 cup of food per day for a dog of that size. However, the exact amount of food is best discussed by your veterinarian, as they will be better able to advise based on your dog’s age, weight, breed and exercise level, towards an ideal daily caloric intake.

What amount of should I feed my 45 lb mix breed chow/husky (11 yr old) dog who is not very active. We were feeding her about 1 cup 2x a day but have been cutting back to 1x a day. Not sure if that is correct.

Asked by: Foxysmaster
Recommended feeding for a medium sized (25-50lb) adult active dog is 2 – 3¼ cups per day for this particular product. Each dog is different based on breed, age, activity level, along with his/her eating habits so it’s difficult to say how much is the proper amount for any given dog. As long as the dog is healthy and not under or over weight maintain the amount of food fed on a daily basis that allows your dog to maintain his weight.
