    Peppermint Chocolate Sticks

    "Our family loves these," says Jennifer. "They are such a fun Christmas recipe to make and very easy. The kids love decorating them."

    Ingredients

    • 1 bag large pretzel sticks
    • 2 pkgs. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1 pkg. white chocolate chips
    • 6 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
    • 1 small pkg. King Leo Peppermint Stick
    • Candy or other hard peppermint candy

    Directions

    Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips on low heat in a saucepan, preferably a tall, narrow one (so it's easy to dip the sticks). Slowly melt vegetable shortening and add 4 Tbsp. of it to the chocolate. Stir frequently.Do the same with the white chocolate chips, adding the remaining 2 Tbsp. of melted shortening. This can also be done using a double boiler.

    In a Ziploc bag, crush the peppermint candies. Dip the pretzels into the semi-sweet chocolate, tilting the pan to the side so the pretzel is mostly coated. Let the excess drip off. Lay pretzels on waxed paper and drizzle with white chocolate. Immediately sprinkle with crushed peppermint.

    Serving size varies based on the number of pretzels in the bag.
