Honey-glazed Chicken

Submitted by Fannie May Miller, of Holton, Mich.

Fannie likes the mix of flavors in her honey-glazed chicken.

"We like the flavor with the honey and lemon juice; the sweet with the sour," she says. "It makes the chicken tangy."

  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. red pepper
  • 1 broiler frying chicken, cut up
  • ½ cup butter, melted and divided
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce (optional)
  • 1½ tsp. curry powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl or bag, combine flour, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and dredge or shake to coat. Pour 4 Tbsp. butter in a 9x13x2 pan. Place chicken in pan, turning pieces to coat. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Combine brown sugar, honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, curry powder, and remaining butter. Pour over chicken. Bake 45 minutes more or until chicken is tender, basting several times with pan drippings.

Serves 4-6.
