Cloud Biscuits Recipe

Becky never considered herself a bread maker, but this biscuit recipe, handed down from her mother, is practically fool-proof, says Kirk, a cashier for a Tractor Supply store in Cullman, Ala.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups self-rising flour
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • 1 package yeast
  • ½ cups buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix dry ingredients in mixing bowl; add Crisco, milk, and yeast mixture. Mix well. Spoon out dough on cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
