Fit beautifully

I bought this jacket as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Was getting tired of seeing a grown man wearing hoodies everyday with sleeves that weren't long enough for him. This jacket fits him like a glove! Bought him the tall and the length was perfect both jacket n sleeve. Its not extremely bulky or fancy which is a plus cuz he's a manly man. I would definetly buy him another if this ever got lost or stolen (hope I didn't jinx it). Well worth the money.

Awesome Jacket, Minor Design Issue

I agree pretty much with everyone else in most aspects, so will save you from being redundant and get right to my one complaint: pocket insulation.
While standing or walking in the cold, with both hands in the pockets, the bottom front of the coat tends to “bell” outward just simply from the “hang” of my hands being pressed into the pockets. This belling tends to pull the cold wind up and into the coat. While the draw string 7 or so inches up from the bottom can ensure that the cold wind does not make its way into my torso, it does not help with the inside of the pockets.
The interior front of the pockets are completely Sherpa lined, the interior rear of the pockets are not, surely due to the coat’s interior Sherpa lining. The interior of the coat is Sherpa lined, but this lining stops roughly 2 inches from the zipper. This leaves about a 1.5 inch strip of un-insulated interior pocket area to rapidly get cold when in cold and windy conditions and your hands are in the pockets and the air is being drawn into this area from the belling of the bottom front of the coat.
While the sleeves seal nicely to the pocket openings, and the front of the Sherpa lined pocket effectively insulates the cold wind from the exterior of the coat, the interior most portion of the pockets remains cold due to the above. And the worst part is that this is the portion where your bare hands and fingers are curled up to keep warm, right at that inner most portion.
This is rather defeating really, and seems like simple oversight on the design of the coat. To get around this I either have to wear gloves while my hands are in the pockets (defeating in itself) or walk awkwardly to keep the front of the coat from belling.
A simple design solution would be to carry the coat’s interior Sherpa lining just another 1 inch closer to the zipper.
Still love the coat all the same, but fixing this would make it all the better!

My search is over!

Living in Ohio the weather changes from day to day. It'll be 10 one day 40 the next with plenty of wind during the winter season. This coat exceeds all my expectations. I don't like bulky heavy coats and for it's weight it'll keep you warm in the cold and breaths nicely for the warmer days when a lighter coat could be used. With the sherpa lining wind is no match for this coat. I'm 6' / 185lbs so got the large tall. Fits perfect with plenty of room to move. Construction of the coat is bar none. It's a Carhartt and lives up to it's reputation. I've searched all over and tired many different brands of coats for the perfect coat to wear from cool fall days to cold winter days, my search is over! Thank you Carhartt.
