I bought this same coat a few years back i can honestly say you can not destroy this coat. I'm a linemen I'm always working in the cold and this coat has done more than it's job. I've been snagged on things and it wouldn't rip I've been cut up on poles and it didn't rip. Most importantly it's warm never owned a better coat I give it 100%.

My Favorite Coat Ever

I got this coat in 1998 when i was in the 10th grade and wore it every winter up until this year. The only reason i stopped wearing it is because i can't find it. The only thing wrong with it after all those years were a few burn holes from wearing it while welding.I will def be buying another next winter and suggest anyone who wants to buy a longlasting coat do the same

I got this jacket in the winter of 2002 when i was living in Philadelphia. This jacket is the best. You can wear it with just a t-shirt and long sleeve shirt, and stay comfortably warm. The two inside pockets are great for a large bi-fold wallet on one side, and mail, tri-folded papers, and pens on the other. The large outer pockets are bottomless (9"wide by 12" tall with a cutout opening, with no closure- but i've never had anything fall out) you can fit a folded in half sheet of paper, gloves, earmuffs or knit hat and anything else you can think of. Even though the outer pockets aren't insulated, they can block the wind on a cold day and still keep your bare hands warm. The other day i lost my car keys in there with my gloves and other stuff, and didnt even hear them jingling around. There are 2 smaller outer pockets (5"x5") on top of the larger ones good for small pieces of paper or an ID and credit card. Carhartt's level of care is unbeatable. Four years after owning it i had a problem with the zipper. I emailed Carhartt, they emailed me a postage paid UPS label, and I dropped it off at a local ship center. They replaced the zipper and shipped it back to me within 7 business days. Nine years later and still going strong. The cordoroy collar has faded a little with my washings, but the cordura hasn't faded any.(cold wash and hang dry). My only regret is not researching further and buying a tall size (the store where purchased only carried regular sizes). At 6'3", 180 lbs, the Large size I purchased would be better in Tall with a little extra length in the sleeves.

Great winter work jacket!

I waited three weeks after I got my Carhartt arctic quilted lined jacket and hood to write this review because I really put it to some tests. I work nightshift as a mechanic for a regional railroad company so I’m outdoors in all kinds of weather. When I got the jacket I was kind of skeptic because it is thin and fairly light weight. On a 3 degree snowy windy night this jacket kept me so warm with just a long sleeve shirt underneath. It protects against the biting wind too. The jacket is really well designed. The zippers are easy to use with gloves on. It’s also easy to put things in the pockets with gloves on. Just real well designed. The optional hood is great too. With the hood up and the Velcro flap fastened it seals up around your face so cold air or snow cant get in. The jackets material is very durable and water resistant. Defiantly won’t tear easily. All and all it’s a super work jacket!
