Keeps falling down
Date:January 5, 2012
the helmet its self is nice but the hood screws strip very easy my first use of this helmet and it already stripped out the hood screws and when you look down at all it falls and falls fast right into your collar bones.... will be trying to return this thing and be getting a better one!!!

for me it's good enough
Date:December 24, 2011
I just bought this as a secondary helmet. for when I have to have a helper help me hold on to something that needs to be welded. I use it sometimes and so far it has been good for me.

Looks Good But Falls Down
Date:November 11, 2011
I had the same experience as MDDeff. It's easy to see, wide view field, comfortable... But it's a fixed shade, so you need to look at your gun and where you are going to weld, keep your hands steady then flip your helmet down. But the helmet is constantly falling down when I'm trying to line everything up. I tightened it to try to fix the problem but the plastic screw stripped on one side and now it's worse. Hobart makes great products and I understand making an inexpensive product for the home / novice welder. But not at the expense of their good name when the product has a big flaw.

Wide Viewing area but falls down
Date:November 7, 2011
I got this when I purchased my Hobart 140 welder.
Pros: Headband is adjustable in every way, even fits my giant noggin. Nice wide viewing lens for seeing around corners and such - nice for the notice welder (like me!)
Cons: And this is a big one, the side nuts aren't strong enough to hold it up out of your way when you don't need it, it falls down as soon as you look down at all. VERY ANNOYING! It will stay up when you tighten it, but after raising and lowering it even once causes the right nut to loosen up to the point where it doesn't say up any more.
