I have tried just about every rust remover on the planet and just happened across this in the store the other day and thought I'd try it too. I'm rebuilding the front axle on my tractor and didn't want to use an acid based cleaner because I didn't want the bearing bores over sized. This stuff flat out works. It works so well I've thrown stuff in the bucket just because it works that I normally would not have cared about. I LOVE the fact that it has no chemical smell, the bucket is actually in the house and my wife didn't realize it since the bucket stays by my reloading bench anyway. Not the fastest thing in the world but the safest I've ever ran across.

I've tried other chemical rust removers and you can't be EvapoRust on the price by volume. It's environmentally friendly and doesn't contain acid so it won't eat good metal like Naval Jelly. No noxious fumes. If you have heavily rusted parts you will have to soak them for several days but it gets every bit of rust out all crevices and pits. Plus, this stuff is REUSABLE several times. The number one drawback is that the parts must be submerged in the liquid but you can cut it 50/50 with water and still do the job.

Be aware that this is not a rust converter that you can just spray or brush onto rusty metal, the rusty parts must be submerged in the liquid. I used it to clean up some very rusty old mower parts. The directions say that it takes 30 minutes or overnight for heavy rust. I left my parts submerged for 3 days with daily agitation and scrubbing with a wire brush. After 3 days some parts were still not completely rust free, but the remaining rust was minimal and easily removed with a wire wheel. The de-rusted parts have a dull pitted appearance similar to sand-blasted parts, but without any change to un-rusted areas.

If you are looking for a friendly product to remove rust quickly and not damage the part and safe to use then this is what you want. I have used it on old car parts and it is truly amazing. From as little as 30 minutes to over night it will remove the most stubborn rust and not hurt the part. Have used it on bolts and on delicate logos and it performes great. And you do not have to worry about getting it on you because it is safe to use non caustic and will not harm you or your work area.
