It'll Work

I just bought one of these puppies from my local TSCo.
It was easy to get home and install. When I opened it with the provided combination (no problem) the shelf flopped out. It had totally fallen apart. Didn't really bother me since it was kind of a flimsy looking shelf anyway. Will definitely replace with a real piece of wood.

Other than the shelf being trashed, the craftsmanship is sufficient. If you're looking for bells and whistles, you won't find it for this price.
If you're looking for a big steel box that's really hard to open without the combo, this'll work just fine.
I'm using it to store three rifles, a shotgun, and two handguns.

It's a theft deterant

I'm a police officer and get to hear all the fun things that happen around home on the radio at night. After a string of burglary/ home invasions, I decided it was time to do some thing to protect my investment if the dirt bags pay a visit while I'm not home. This safe is NOT fire safe, well it would most likely stand up to a flash fire. It's only medium gauge steel plate. The lock mechanism seams to be pretty decent, it's not Swiss but it's not sloppy. The lock handle is positive but smooth. The safe could be "peeled" but it would take a gorilla. I'm not sure how easy it would be to drill since the only way to find out would be to try. If you have kids or just want to deter the average burgler then this will most likely fit the bill. As with any security device short of some illegal explosive devices, it can be defeated but not with out effort. Unless bolted down it's basically useless as two people could easily grab it and run. I'm not sure about being a full 10 gun capacity, I have 3 Mosin-Naggant, 1 1917, 1 22 mag w/scope 1 AR15 1 M1 carbine and 1 fully dressed snipper rifle and it is TIGHT, I had to rearrange it a couple of time to get the door to close with out binding or hitting any one my riffles.

Great first gun safe!

You can't go wrong with this safe. It is well constructed and looks nice. Mine is bolted down to the floor in one of my closets where it fits nicely. One word of advise to all the guys. Just one gun safe isn't going to be enough. You would be surprised how fast you can fill one up. lol I had this safe for three years and had to go back to buy a bigger safe from TSC. That one is great too.

A well built safe

A well built safe for the price. Three heavy lock bars in door edge. Room for the weapon storage and accessory as well. Safe apperance is good with out being a huge sore thumb in room. inside fixtures for holding guns offset for scoped weapons ,long barrels will only fit in front spaces. Due, to shelf in top of safe that provides space for scope and mag storage. overall a very well built safe for storage of often used weapons.
