Works well, but NOT for precision work
Date:June 7, 2011
I'm building a small benchtop CNC machine, and I bought this drill press for drilling holes in HDPE plastic. I need to be able to drill holes very precisely, and this machine is basically junk if you have to be within a 1mm tolerance. There is just way too much flex and movement in the machine. Also, it seems like my bits are rotating ever so slightly off center as well, so lining up holes perfectly with existing holes is very hard. Save up for something higher quality if you need precision!
As far as just making holes in stuff, it works well!

bought it the same day i bought my chop saw and used it to drill through some pretty thick material. works like a charm i know Clarke is cheap so i didn't buy the cheapo drill bit set beside it they should take it off the shelf. sell some good machine shop grade bits or maybe blackbull should make a lathe next
