good priced tool, bad factory design
Date:December 27, 2011
I got this drill press as a gift and was very excited until I started assemblying it. The book was very poorly written as for assembly instructions. Once I started putting it togeather I ran into a major malfunction. The crank that raised and lowered the table would not work at all as it was wedged tight and when I was able to get it broke loose it still did not work right. When I went to put the batteries in the laser light compartment half the battery connections were missing and some were bad. I did some test drilling with it and it did drill nicely and very smooth which I liked, but the other malfuntions would make it to hard to do a good job. It is on it's way back to the store and we will see what happens and will let you know the outcome of the situation.

A pretty good tool

Bought drill already assembled. There was no switch key. The laser light box and switch was broken. Called Buffalo tools and they sent me replacement parts. Drill seems to work ok, but the laser light is a joke. If you want a drill press with a reliable laser, don't buy this one.

Good Tool, Not Great Instructions
Date:December 30, 2010
I wish I would have read the last review before I tried to put this thing together! While it was mostly a breeze to assemble, there is a part that must be installed before attempting to place the chuck on the drill...there is no mention of it in the directions, so be careful! Now that it's together, I am very happy with it. While I did find myself purchasing a clamp for the table, I certainly can't complain that it didn't come with one, especially for the price. The belts are very tight, but the functionality is very good. The range of speeds is excellent, the movement good, and overall this is just a very good tool for the money.
