My hobby is old tractors and machinery, and I have used the PSC 1000 solvent for several years. It is not cheap, but in my opinion is worth it. It cleans better than straight kerosene or diesel fuel, and also less flammable. When the solvent gets dirty I strain it through a coffee or paint filter, clean out the washer, and reuse the same solvent
