I bought two of the smaller versions about two years ago. If the spade handled model is still being sold it is too short to be comfortably used by most people over five feet tall - I'm 5' 11" and have a back ache from using it for an extended period. The blade is OK but the wood they use in the handle is garbage. Both handles have broken under light use (edging and root chopping) over the two year period. Both have broken in a spiral fracture from the top just below the spade handle to the bottom just above the blade, and yes I did treat the handles almost monthly with linseed oil.. Breaks were along the grain and were through-and-through. It's virtually impossible to locate replacement handles and, when I called the company, they said they didn't have replacement parts for sale and could not direct me to anyone who had parts. I made a replacement handle for both out of better wood as I had winter downtime but I would not recommend these tools to my friends or enemies.
