Great Axe For The Price

This axe is definately a bargain for an all purpose axe. The thicker bit design lends itself to splitting small to medium rounds ( if you don't have a maul) yet is not so thick that felling is an all day chore. The axe is not very sharp right out of the store but that is easily fixed with a good stone and a little patience. The hickory handle is very well attached and fills the eye completely but the grain orientation was almost completely horizontal on mine making it weaker than a more verticle one (last one on rack). Balance is very good for a cheaper axe making accurate fluid swings easier. It's not a Snow and Neally or the renowned Gransfors but it costs a fraction of either one and unless you earn your living with it you will not mind that it's not hand forged in Sweeden. Well pleased for it's intended use.

This is a great price for a double bit axe. This axe is well balanced and comes with a 36" handle which is increasingly hard to find.
