has both good and bad points
Date:April 4, 2011
This feeder has both its good and bad points. The good: It has held up well in full sunshine and dispenses a large amount of seed. The bad: I wish the bottom were a little more sloped to force the seed to the mesh sides. When it gets close to empty the seed sits in the middle. Because of this, the drainage is not as good as it could be and sometimes the seed get moldy in my humid, wet south Louisiana climate. I also think the mesh is a little small, as the birds like to eat when its full but eat less as the seed volume shrinks. The sunflower graphic on the top has faded in the full sun. Not a big deal, but affects the aesthetics of the feeder. So has both its good and bad points in my experience. I I wish I had chosen a different option

Great for "clinging" birds
Date:August 28, 2010
I load two pounds of black-oil sunflower into this great feeder, and the "clinging" birds--woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches--go to work. They cling to the wire mesh sides and pick sunflowers through the mesh. I only have to load it up once a week, which saves me time, too. Not to mention the fun of watching the birds!
