I have had my cats for two years now and got them both when they were kittens. I never had a problem with them scratching my couch or anything else until we had to move into my boyfriends parents house temporarily. They loved scratching his moms couch and when we finally moved back into our own place, they started going after mine. I tried all kinds of things and this was so simple and in expensive but I never thought these things worked. Both of my cats have not laid a paw on my couch and they love to roll around on the base, scratch and stretch the pole. They absolutely love it and so do I!
