Glad I have it now

This is one of the few products I've purchased that performs as advertised. I've killed three mowers in the past 5 years trying to tame some overgrown property, and the only place I've been successful is where a tornado helped me out shortly after I bought the property. The undergrowth is so thick, it's all but impossible to even get in with a chainsaw to thin out some of the trees and improve the propety. It's a fire hazard, snakey and I can't see to the back of my property where kids from the next neighborhood like to hide. It's been a slow go up to now, cutting small saplings with lopping shears and then grinding up the cuttings with a chipper. The FIRST bush I took on with the Predator had a 1 inch plus diameter and this thing didn't even blink when I cut it off. WOW. I accidentally hit a seasoned pine stump with it, and expected to find the blade tied up in a knot and a bent arbor. Nope. There's a big chunk of stump missing, but the mower's just fine. Overall, it IS what I was looking for.
Now for the negatives....
The side skid/deflector combos have a small notch made during the manufacture that should probably have been welded up and polished off. As is, it tends to gather small vines and grasses and create a "hairball" that builds up under the runner, lifting up a mower that doesn't cut very close to start with. I've already got a fix in mind with some sacrificial runners to bolt on to the skids.
When the skids are lowered to the lowest position, it causes a lot of forward rake because the rear wheels are not adjustable for height. This willl make the problem with the skids worse because they'll be "plowing" harder with the forward rake.
It doesn't cut quite as close as I would like, but I have to remind myself, it's designed to be rough, and cut rough stuff. I'm not on a golf green.
This thing is a brute, and can be brutish on the user. But, no walk-behind machine that is going to cut 1-1/2 inch saplings is going to be nice to the user. I've only had it one day, so I'm still learning how to use it and handling techniques. I cut some undergrowth, and some high grass both just to see how well it handles both.

Not what i expected

I bought this product do to the difference in price to the Dr. Power Mower. It cuts fine, but the wheels always get stuck and it doesnt handle hills very well.

I live on a 4 acre piece which is predominately pines. oaks, mountain laurel and wild blue berries. I use this mower to clear the land for a food plot for wildlife. ie deer and turkeys. The machine has never failed me. It cuts down all kinds of saplings and bushes like they were rye grass. It would have been unthinkable to try a put the food plot in place without this machine. I didn't give it 5 stars only because the handle bars are a little to low for a 6 footer. Swisher should make them adjustable. Buy it and you won't regret it!
