Powerboss 3000 psi detailed review
Date:June 21, 2011
I purchased this unit roughly 4 months ago. During that time I have had many opportunities to really use the washer to its ability. I would like to share my experience and review. First, I want to discuss the motor. The motor is a Honda, however it must be noted that it is consumer grade. Please do not be mistaken, even a consumer grade Honda is better than most commercial Briggs out there (my humble opinion). The motor started easily when cold and even after several hours of use. The units fuel tank was large enough to perform all tasks I needed to complete. The downfall of this motor is trottle control. This model is fixed and not variable for engine speed. When the motor is cranked, it runs full throttle all the time. In my experience, I had to allow the motor to warm up for a minute when first cranked. If not, when the trigger on the wand was pressed, the motor would bog and stop running. I must mention there are a lot of vibration produced when the motor is under load and felt the motor was just a tad small for the pump (my humble opinion). Second, lets discuss the wand, hose, and tips. The wand has a safety feature for some misunderstood reasons. It is very uncomfortable to use and I would either recommend disassembly to remove this feature, as I did after two uses, or buy a replacement as soon as possible. The hose is also of consumer grade and found no problems other than it will kink if twisted to hard. The spray tips included, seem to be good quality and give you a variety of spray patterns and are storable on the wand, which made it convenient for a quick pattern change. there is also a soap tank attached to this unit for dispersing a cleaning agent will washing. Third, the pump appears to work very well and is easy to attach a garden hose to it. This particular pump contains a protection feature that will bypass the water should you leave the unit running at no load for an extended period of time. This feature allows the pump to stay cool and protect it from thermal breakdown. Finally, the stand or cart that houses everything works well, however could of had a better design for coiling and storing the wand and hose. It is well balanced when moving around and rolls easy. there are soft rubber pads on the feet which help with stabilizing the unit while it is under use. I found them a must because of the high vibrations produced by the unit under load. All in all the washer does what it is suppose to. I would only wish to share my experience and facilitate someone when considering this washer for purchase. Thanks.

Great deal, good buy & awesome product

I have been watching this item for a while. Great price was a good time to purchase. You can save about $100 buying the briggs & stratton motor (DON"t do it). The Honda motor is the way to go. Spend the extra money. You won't be sorry. This motor started out of the box 2 pulls. The unit has more than enough power to clean all your equipment. The unit was somewhat disassembled when I bought it, but my 15 year old put it together. Very easy to use. I love the never flat tires, and the soap tank is large a great idea. TSC hit a homerun with this product.
