It's one thing to talk innovation - it's another to back it up. Cub Cadet® has been backing it up for decades. How? By building riding tractors, utility vehicles, and commercial mowers that work harder and perform better than anything else. Cub Cadet® is committed to moving outdoor power equipment forward. The world around us is constantly advancing. Shouldn't the machines we use to care for it advance too?

Very Nice
Date:May 8, 2011
I have only used this trimmer 2 times but, so far, it is very impressive. I took it out of the box, put it together, put gas and oil in it and it started right up! I've had two other 4 cycle trimmers. One Troy Built and one Ryobi. Both were junk with junk warranties. Will NEVER buy either one again. This trimmer/brush cutter is obviously of better quality. The only draw back is the weight. The "D" handle that comes with it is not adequate to handle the weight. I fortunately had a "handle bar" handle that came with an old Ryan trimmer I once had. Using this handle, along with the provided shoulder strap, this unit is very effective.

Cub Cadet Experience
Date:April 25, 2011
I bought the Cub Cadet 4 cycle gas trimmer and the first time I used it I really liked it, but the second time I used it was a different story. The second use it would not idle until I adjusted the idle speed screw to idle it up, no big deal here but then when the line went up inside the head and I shut the motor off to fix the line and refill the gas tank it would not start up and run unless it was choked half choke. It would go up to about half throttle with the choke half on and run good but it would not take any more throttle, it would begin to sputter really bad if you throttled it and I tried to unchoke it and it would die everytime. I emptied the gas tank and took it back to Tractor Supply and they readily gave me a full refund and I went over to the aisle and picked out a Husqvarna 2 cycle and bought it and went home to finish the yard trimming. I would NOT recommend a Cub Cadet gas trimmer to anyone after this experience. I would recommend Tractor Supply to everyone as a good store that stands behind what it sells!

cc5090 trimmer
Date:August 16, 2010
bought this back in spring of '09 - should have done this a long time ago. nicest feature is - i'm no longer mixing gas & oil. fairly easy to crank - its not one pull start, but if you follow the instructions it has never failed to crank and run. machine is a tad on the heavy side - for short stints not a problem - when i have to trim the whole yard (350+' driveway + shed + dog run + 14 trees + house) i prefer to use the shoulder strap. 4cyl also has a bit of vibration - but you don't finish and have the "shakes". also like the trigger/accelerator is easy to adjust line speed - not like some that are all or none. would i buy again - heck yeah - even if it were not on sale. would like more accessibility to the list of available attachments. buy and enjoy!!

Bad weedeater head
Date:July 3, 2010
the head on the trimmer keeps breaking the little nob on the tip out of first 3 months I've owned this thing ive had to have it replaced twice now. On the head the bump nob is a threaded bolt that is covered by a plastic part to keep you from rounding off the bolt head. The nob keeps breaking off of the thing and rendering it almost useless if you want to keep feeling the head w/ string I'm sick of messing w/ it. At least my old trusty Poulan may be week but i all ive done to it is the mandatory maintenance too keep it going for almost 10 years now. THIS THING IS JUNK!!!!!!!!!!
