I bought this several years after I sold my big farm. I have drilled hundreds of postholes. This auger screws itself into the ground as soon as it gets a bite, no matter what speed or how careful you try to be.. Then I have to rock the tractor back and forth to get it out. My soil is pretty clean, not a lot of rock or shale. It took an hour to put in one post. I finally rented a G2040. and had no problem. I even emailed the manufacturer, Speeco. After many emails their final answer was, "Oh well" we can't determine your problem. BTW TSC has its own designed auger, it is not a Speeco or Premier.

A work saver

Purchased this unit with a 12" auger for use on my JD1050. Unit can be installed by (1) person in about ten minutes. Will ever use a shovel to dig holes again. Don't understand how other people had problem with crooked holes. Mine were nice a straight. Cut right threw 1/2" roots with no problem. Golf ball size rocks weren't an issue.. Highly recommended for the price. Good quality.

Worked as designed

This auger did an exceptional job in digging post holes. We had no problem at all assembling and were provided gear oil from our local TSC. The instructions were easy to follow and after a few practice holes, we were able to confidently start our fencing project. I would definitely recommend this product as i felt it was priced resonably and works great.

Well worth it.

Unit worked very well. Did get some crooked holes at first but was my fault for going too fast. After a few practice holes I pretty much had it down. For me the key was starting off dropping it SLOWLY, bringing back up and repeat. This unit help me finish a job in 3 hours that if done manually would have taken 2 days…at least. Also, get the proper bushings if the pins are sloppy in your hitch. Would definitely recommend this piece of equipment.
