Great Tractor for the Money!

I bought this tractor last minute since my main tractor broke down. I needed a budget-friendly option and I was rather surprised by it's performance! The 19HP single takes LESS than 1/2 the gas of my 22HP twin. The deck cuts amazingly flat and even. I am now considering making this a dedicated mower and the other tractor for garden work. I was leary of the automatic drive, it is very easy to drive and control and a tad jerkier than a full hydro, but not bad at all. Definitely "wife-friendly". I recently acquired the bagger attachment as well. My only complaint is the gear selector lever. Before it engages and "snaps" into place, it is only held in by a plastic gate which bends easily and I am afraid over time the plastic gate will be useless from being stressed so much. It also grabs my shorts when I get off the tractor so I may cut an inch or so off the lever. Other than that, I would highly recommend this over the competition at this price point.

Outstanding performance at a good price

I needed a tractor large enough to mow our open field but small enough to mow some landscaped areas with lots of features to cut around. This mower is fast in the field and precise around the landscaping. Plenty of power. User features are intuitive and the controls have great ergonomics. The hydrostatic drive is smooth and response is linear; no surprise jerks and starts. Even with the HS drive there's enough engine braking to keep the tractor at a crawl on descents. Service points are easily accessible. The cockpit is comfy and noise, vibration, and harshness are low considering it's a single-cylinder engine. If I must gripe, it's the piece of vinyl hose included to facilitate oil changes. A longer oil drain pipe from the engine would have been a tidier design.

Cub cadet is one of the leading makers of lawn mowers and when TSC said they wanted this one it was a good deal. A great mower with a company that stands behind it. twice TSC and MTD
