We Highly Recommend LTX1040
Date:May 14, 2012
The Sales Staff & Especialy Delivery man "Dennis" was Fantastic. He went over all we needed to now upon the LTX1040 arrvial. This is a Powerful and FUNTASTIC Riding Mower. We call it a Tractor. Even the Reverse Mow is a 5 star added feature along with the Deck Wash ! Wow! Plus the cruise control is nice and the deck height adjustments is great for a perfect mow. We Recommend ear plugs or ear muffs. Lots of Sound Power when PTO is engaged. The Funny thing. You have to slow down if you buy the mulch blades and mulch plug kit. Or you Will leave Cow Clump Droppings of Grass . The 2 in 1 blades that comes with it work fine but we wanted the mulch setup and added that ourself. Then the discharge shoot is not in the way.Very Happy and It out ranks the Troy Bronco and the Risky Craftsmans. This IS a Top Quality mower and the Kohler engine DOES beat out the Briggs. Easy Access to change oil, plug, air filer. Even Adding gas is just like a car and the Auto trans makes it ride like one. Like the start up battery voltage readi and it also HAS an Hour Meter! Lots of high priced extras that others don't have. Even has adjustable seat with a lever. 1 2 3 and you have the right feel and Fit. Forget the Other Brands. This IS the One with the Right Stuff ! 8 mows and counting and NO Problems ~2 acre lot ! It's Top Quality. See It ~
Can not achieve the 4 inch height of cut. Have made i feel all that can be made after contacting customer service. Three and a half is the best i get. I really needed that height for my lawn. Very unhappy with this purchase. Looks like it mine now!

Little things
Date:April 11, 2012
Basically this is an excellent mower for the money. I've been troubled (really troubled) by some nickel & dime things. I bought the thing last year and am just now getting to 15 hours of use. In that time it has been broken twice (one continues to happen). First, there is a "bowtie" clip on the end of a clevis pin which goes through slots on both pedals. I believe it's function is to keep both pedals from being depressed at the same time. In any event, when the clip comes out (I usually find it on top of the mowing deck) the clevis pin slips out & you cannot depress the brake. It won't start, it won't go. This continues to happen even though I've tried several different clips. I still find them on top of the mowing deck. Secondly, one of the blades fell off. Yes, it fell off. The spindle was undamaged. The blade simply fell off. I was towing one of the lawn sweeper thingys & didn't notice it was missing until I tried to cut again. I spoke with the TS guy at the store & he said most customers come in complaining about how hard they are to get off. I found that out after installing a new set of blades (once I purchased a new nut). When I called Cub Cadet, they blandly said "blades are not covered by the warranty".
