Great Buy!!!

For the past 5 years the wife and I have been tending our 3 acre lawn with hand tools and an old 42" rider. We decided to get a lawn sweeper to save time, and our backs. After comparing prices and reviews I decided on the 42" 22 cubic foot Ohio Steel. After a little searching I found the best price at Tractor Supply. It took me less than an hour to assemble and hook it to the old rider. The sweeper height was simple to adjust and off we went. I have a lawn that was basically cut out of a forrest so its not the smoothest. This sweeper picked up everything, leaves, grass, pine cones, needles, and sticks. It worked fine on uneven ground, on hills, and going over some fairly large pine tree roots. Before I knew it I had swept up 24 loads of lawn debri !! While the rope (supplied) tied to the handle seemed a little simple for emptying, it worked great and I never had to get off the rider. It's built solid and is very easy to use. I'm planning on using it for many more years.

Totally Impressed

First let me thank the previous reviewers who helped me choose this lawn sweeper. Winter winds and occasional heavy snow left small twigs all over my yard. My previous lawn sweeper bit the dust last fall so I searched for a replacement. This machine is amazing! The assembly instructions were very clear and it was an easy setup. I am just blown away at how well this lawn sweeper works. It picked up the twigs, leafs and other debris with ease and left my lawn looking great! My wife even commented on what a great job this sweeper did. I highly recommend this lawn sweeper!

Does what it says

I have a large area around the house that is heavily wooded so debris removal is essential to wildfire abatement. Raking was taking far too long so despite being skeptical, I decided to try this sweeper when it went on sale. Assembly is complicated but not difficult if you follow the directions closely. I used a Ranger utility vehicle to tow it and had no problems with hook-up or leveling which is necessary to ensure the brushes pick up the leaves. I made about 20 runs the first day and was amazed at how effective it was, even on steep slopes. It does best on even terrain that is not rocky but still managed to pick up a lot of debris in those areas as well. I had no problems with jamming and it picked up pine needles, leaves, small sticks and even some rocks which did cause problems later with the shredder. The machine seems sturdy so I am hopeful it will last for many seasons. Well worth the cost if you have a lot of debris to remove. Would rate as 5 stars if it holds up over time.

Nicer than I'd planned.

I didn't really know what to think. I've never used a lawn sweeper before, but I'd seen them used and thought with my newer, much larger yard, something like this would be useful.
Once assembled (45ish minutes) I had my wife get on the lawn tractor and go for it. We filled and emptied the bag over 40 times in two days. The bag got a little heavy to dump when we got down to wet thatch that was below the existing leaves, but all in all it was fantastic.
