I have owned one of these for about a year now and here is my assessment.
Pro Very robust and innovative beam design, wide bed cradles logs excellently, has elongated holes at end of channels to make debris removal easy. Work height just right while using in the horizontal position. Easily rotates vertically for attacking logs to big to lift. Splits or slices through the snarliest hardwood you can through at it. Cycle times are just right for me with my Ford 345C tractor running at only 1K RPM. Most of the time you don’t have to complete a full stroke to split the wood, once the spitting wedge flared section penetrates most logs pop right open. Ram retracts without you having to keep your hand on the lever; this allows you to work on loading the next log while the ram retracts. One stop shopping, TSC had all of the hydraulic couplers and hoses I needed for attaching to my tractor.
Con Stand is cheap! Initially I replaced the standard 3/8” bolts with a heaver grade since I was worried that the lack of bracing may cause a leg to shear the bolts. I viewed this as a safety risk. I plan on welding some gussets or cross braces between the legs to resolve this issue.
Conclusion I did extensive research before I settled on this model. For the money this is the best one out there. I have split about 6 chords with it over the past year and have absolutely no complaints. SPEECO has engineered a great product at an attractive price in comparison to the competition, and other than the stand, it is built like a tank. I expect this piece of equipment will last a lifetime; I would not hesitate in buying one again.

I have this on a 44hp JD with a 13.9 gpm flow rate and 2600 psi. It does a great job splitting everything I throw at it. Having this on the back of an idling tractor is much quieter and has less exposure to exhaust than the stand alone models with there little gas engines. It's also a great value for the price. I got 48" hoses for mine which is about as short as you're going to be able to get with this.

It does the job

At 63 with a sore back it was time for my first log splitter. This afternoon I split a 24"h X33"d butt end of an oak tree that was cut a year ago. It handled the log without an issue. I would still be beating on that one by hand. The splitter is attached to a JD 855 with a 5.6 gpm pump with 2,050 psi. Cycle time is 25 seconds as the manual said it would be. That gives me just enough time to turn around and get another log from the pile to split. Only complaint is the support legs, which should be braced. When returning the splitter from vertical to horizontal, the pin will not align unless the legs are squeezed together with a binder. After 10 hours of use, I am glad that I made the purchase.

Unbelievable

First of all I bought this splitter to use it in the vertical position. The first thing I did was weld the legs to the frame. After that the legs are very stable. I installed a pto pump that produces about 16 gpm and a reservoir. I was able to kook everything up with NO issues. This splitter has split everything I put in it. I would highly recommend this splitter and recommend a stand alone hydraulic system to run it.
