I purchased this splitter 2 yrs ago expecting to have a descent quality machine. As far as power and ease of starting, the machine shines. Unfortunately, it has leaked hydraulic oil from having 5hrs on it through the breather hole despite the level in the tank. Once it hit 20-25hrs, the gears coming off the engine stripped and stopped the hydraulics. Very disappointed in the qulity of the mechanical parts. My buddy has a 22 ton and it did the same thing with less time on it.

I process firewood for resale. I purchased this splitter about a year ago, have split over 100 cords. Not a single problem to report. I own 3 splitters, this one is not the fastest, but nothing stops it! 2 recommendations, build a guard for the motor, and weld on an extension to the wedge to make it 3 inches taller.

What a powerhouse! I looked into many other splitters as well as reading all reviews. I have been looking for 1 year and finally decided to purchase the 35 ton, this unit is worth the extra $$, fast ram speed, idle control, easy start, 1 or 2 pulls, and additional power all makes it worth it. Picked out the worst knotty blocks I could find, and without hesitation it cut through , even on low idle. (love the idle control) It now makes what was considered work enjoyable. I highly recommend this unit if you want to save yourself time and energy.

A machine should work longer then I can.

Made it through one tank of gas. A few pieces of wood into the second tank, the "lovejoy" coupling between the motor and the pump falls to pieces on the ground. When I buy a brand new piece of equipment, I expect it to out work me. I called the store, and I am not the first. I hope the warranty is good, but even if it is, I still won't get any wood split tomorrow.
Please note I am not complaining about TSC. I like the store, and the people.
