Awesome Splitter!
Date:December 23, 2011
Purchased new 3 years ago. Changed one filter and one return hydraulic hose. Have split in excess of 100 cords of firewood. Always starts in less than three pulls. Runs all day long and no issues! I would buy another one any day.

new one not an improvement

This new model, when it is vertical and you are busting wood, the exhaust fumes blow into your face due to the position of the engine. It is very hard to use this piece of equipment with fumes blowing into your face.Someone needs to research this further. I own an older model and have no problem with the fumes blowing into my face and it wonderful. Why would the motor be changed to the oposite side allowing the fumes to blow into the operator's face?

WOW!!!

I am 53 years of age and have been splitting wood since the age of 10 by hand with a maul and wedges. I heat my home with wood and use about 3-4 cords per winter. The years have caught up with me and after extensive research both on line and word of mouth decided on the Husky log splitter (28 ton gas powered). The design and the cost and reading everything I could both good & bad about the machine swayed my decision. All the negative flaws that I read about have been fixed and the Honda brand engine closed the deal. I just split a good amount of Maple and Elm and can't say enough good things about this machine. It is my opinion that this is at the top of the line for anyone other than the comercial tree guys for your dollar spent and the ability to hold it's resale value period!

Great log Splitter

ok after 1st 5 logs could'nt take exhaust in my face so with a 3inch pc of 1 inch pipe a good fit and a 1inch 45degree elbow fumes were redirected and now it is a machine to be proud to own. Cuts through logs with no problem
