Chickens like it
Date:March 22, 2012
Our flock likes it, lays well, and has been doing well on it. They did NOT like the Omega 3 Purina feed. With the pellets we have seen a bit of powdering, but not much. There seems to be little waste, and they like it enough that they'll clean up the powder in the bottom of one feeder even if there are whole pellets in the other!

My 7 hens' favorite!
Date:October 30, 2011
My 7 hens love this food! I have purchased DuMOR Layer and Nutrena Layer in the past, but my chickens favor this brand much more. It's not too expensive either. I mix this with a little of the Purina Scratch Grains as a treat.
When I bought my chickens they were fed only whole corn. After 3 days of being fed Layena, the 4 hens had accumulated enough nutrition to be able to lay 1 egg every day! The new 3 I just adopted (now I have 7) have just been started on Purina Layena, so I expect more eggs very soon.
I've already sold 18 eggs in only 3 weeks of laying from my first 4 hens. Now I got 7 hens! I can't imagine their future output on Purina Layena & Purina Scratch Grains.
THANKS PURINA!

Disappointed
Date:September 7, 2011
I have fed Purina to my dogs, cats and now chickens. I have always been pleased with their products but not happy with their pellets. There are few pellets in this mix, it is mostly crumbles and the last few bags have been moldy. Even tried a different store and same problem. Poor quality control and production for their chicken feed lately. I'm switching to Nutrena Nature Wise, nice firm pellets and the gals love it. Their feathers are nice and they're eating this well.
