We currently have 3 of these tanks and I was online checking the price for a new one. About to purchase a 4th for an additional pasture. I was shocked to see a negative review. Our original tank is well over 5 years old and no issues to date. Easy to clean. Durable. No sharp edges. Holds up to horses chewing and pawing. Definitely a wise choice for our farm! Thanks Tractor Supply, you are $30 cheaper on it than our local hardware store!!!!!!

Not good for long run.

Bought one of these water troughs four years ago. It seemed to work fine until this year and it started leaking. Checked to find two cracks in the bottom. It has not been used in the winter, only summer.

Not good in the long term

We purchased two of these tanks 3 years ago. The first one lasted 2 years before it cracked at the bottom edge and leaked. After numerous attempts at repair I realized that the flexible nature of walls of this style tank makes a repair next to impossible and I replaced it with a metal tank. The other lasted an additional year, but the act of draining to clean and refilling resulted in enough flex at the bottom edge to cause the same kind of crack/leak. Additionally, the Rubbermaid brand floats, made of plastic, had easy to strip threads, easily broken housings, and the floats themselves tend to stick in a down position allowing the tank to overflow. This style tank is ok, but only just, and not dependable over the long term. I would not purchase one again.

Purchased my tank about five years ago and it leaks like crazy. I have tried to patch it and have had no luck! Last week I called Rubbermaid and was told that there is only a one year warranty on their products. Personally I think that the tank is a bad buy!
