Description
The Allied Precision Cast Aluminum Sinking De-Icer has dedicated thermostats that separately monitor water and heating element temperatures to provide efficient and safe operation. The sturdy, finned base spreads the heat to make the unit run cooler to the touch while still putting the maximum amount of heat into the water. Cooler operation and Teflon coating resists mineral buildup. The DTS15 can be safely operated in any plastic or metal tank without the use of a guard.

I like the design.. all metal , power coated feet to keep it off the tank bottom.. not as many seams at the plastic floaters and ones with exposed heating elements.. and it has 2 sensors.. I am replacing my 4th or 5th blue floater with this.. so far it is performing better than expected will let you know new winter..

A great purchase so far

We purchased this product to heat our preformed plastic goldfish pond and so far it has done very well. We put it in the pond and it got down to 25 degrees for several nights in a row and there was NO ICE whatsoever in the pond. Our fish seem very happy that they are warmer and aren't going into hibernation mode for winter. Its nice that the bottom of the heater has a plastic base that keeps it from sitting right on the bottom of the plastic pond where it could possibly melt it. It doesn't seem to bother the fish either they kind of hang around it maybe for warmth. It has allowed me to keep my fountain running too. I've only had it for about a week so if anything changes I'll let you know. Thanks for a great product!!!
