Worth EVERY penney!!
Date:January 3, 2011
I looked at this product on line and it only had three reviews. Two said they couldn't get it to work, then I looked and seen one that came from close to where I live and they lliked it. I thought for $24.00 it was worth busting ice several times a day, so I tried it. I LOVE IT!!!! I pluged it up and it melted the wholr barrel of ice within a matter of minutes. I haven't busted ice sence and our temperatures have been down in the single temps. I have requested it to all my horse friends and family! Great and very reasonable product. I can't say enough about it!!!! Go get one and see for yourself and you want be sorry!

It works. Need a guard? Try a small, galv. tub
Date:December 14, 2010
I have a 30-gal. plastic water tub for my outdoor dogs. Unseasonable cold in Middle Tennessee has frozen the tub down a few inches several times. Big dogs can keep warm with some shelter and liquid water under harsh conditions, but the water is crucial. Bought this heater Sunday at TSC in Ashland City, but they were out of wire guards for protecting plastic tubs. Tried this heater first in a stainless bucket, but it was only keeping the ice out of the bucket. Switched to a galvanized oval tub abt. 18 x 12," and sank it in the plastic tub, with the ice all broken up. It never re-froze, even with overnight temps near Zero and howling wind. I think we are good for the winter! .

I have been using these heaters for more than10 years and have never had a frozen water tank. I use it in a 110 gallon tank and never have ice, we have temps down to -30 and still no ice in the tank. I used a different kind of heater once and it did not performe even close to the AIS.

Warming up
Date:August 28, 2010
This past winter was the best yet. I didn't have to break the ice with my horses. The tank heater was so easy to use, it was a "drop in the bucket." On warm days, I could just unplug and remove it from the watering tank and then replace it as the forecast predicted more cold weather. It stored easily for the summer and there was no mess and no fuss. I kept it in its original box. Plunk it in the tank and plug it in. Just keep water in the tank and you're set!
